We got in a day early for our BCV reservation and did our usual stay at the Residence Inn on Palm. Nice as always, our first choice in the area.
Had to book a room for a relative for 2 nights, including a pet, and found a pointsaver deal on the Residence Inn at the airport (15,000 points per night). This hotel is only 1 year old (had its first birthday last week) and boy, is it NICE!! The rooms are totally upgraded and look like a very nice boutique hotel. The entire bathroom was tiled (no fiberglass in the shower), the kitchen had a flat stove and stainless steel applicances. Lots and lots of drawer space. With travel down and its location near the airport they may well be offering some good deals in the future, so keep your eyes out. Definitely 4 star. Only downside is the toll booth (2 of them) to get to WDW (but we bought a Sunpass mini at Publix this trip and LOVE that thing, also highly recommend!!). Smaller downside: unlike the RI on Palm this breakfast is only paper plates and some of the food choices were a little less, not too much of a big deal.
Added on a last minute night at the Fairfield at Marriott Village; have stayed there before but this was our first time in the bunkbed family suite. The wall in the separate kid room doesn't go all the way up (I guess for ventilation) nor is there a door in the doorway there. Okay but not great; kids loved the bunkbeds though. Would porbably choose to stay at the Courtyard on Palm in a real suite first, if our favorite RI wasn't available, at least for an extended stay. Otherwise, it was fine for one night but I really, really like my DVC for our family size.
BTW, we used the mousesavers deal that included the $25. credit....check-in person said this is one of the best deals they've ever offered.
