H2O scents in individual bottles vs wall units

So i have a completely esoteric and non important in the grand scheme observation/question. I associate the smell of the H2O products from the resorts with Disney, and use them at home off and on because it makes me happy and think of our Disney trips. This past week was the first trip I've been in a resort with the wall units of body wash/shampoo/conditioner instead of individual bottles (Riviera). I noticed at the Riviera that I barely smelled any scent from any of the product, but now that I'm home I used one of my small bottles from a previous trip and the scent was strong. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it not the exact same product just in bigger bottles that they dump into the wall units?

H2O+ has slightly revamped their formulas a few times over the years. The latest version of the "sea marine" is a now a slightly lighter scent called "eucalyptus and aloe." It will probably remain branded as "sea marine" for Disney. I don't think they refill the bottles on the wall, they swap them out as they are emptied. The only part that is retained is the metal pump dispenser.

Hmmm, maybe that's it and I am more sensitive to the original scent then. I definitely preferred the scent in my old bottles to what was in the pumps in the room this time - mostly because I really coudln't detect much smell to the new one and the old one is engrained with Disney in my head.

They refilled our conditioner. It was empty toward the end of our stay (they didn't refill it at all during our 8 might stay), so I went down to the desk to ask them to fill it. A few minutes later a housekeeping CM brought up a large, industrial sized bottle of the conditioner and use that to refill the regular bottle in our master Bath shower.

I stayed at Riviera in June, don't use the products at home because they really dry out my hair, but I could smell it strongly after my kids took showers while we were staying there. It did smell slightly different, but not different enough that I was like "well that's strange", I'm sure if you use it more frequently though it would be more obvious so I can understand that.

I actually don't think the conditioner is all that good - it takes a ton of it to actually condition my hair and not leave it a knotted mess. I just like it because I associate it with Disney, so I used it off and on at home. Sometimes I just use the body wash for the scent, and another brand of Shampoo and conditioner.

I would wonder about my sense of smell after all of this, but I can smell other things just fine so I know it was real that I couldn't smell it at the RR as much this time. Oh well, not a huge deal, I was just curious if anyone else agreed or noticed :) .

Oh, the conditioner is absolutely horrible, I always only "stole" the little bottles from the room to bring home in case guests (i.e my mom) "forgot" to bring their shampoo and stuff with them. Her hair does not care lol, I just stocked my guest bath with it and let her have at it when she's here and she's a happy camper. I'm sure it's just a lighter sense and your nose is just fine lol

Not quite as appealing is it?

I bring leave in conditioner to supplement!

No, I preferred the individual bottles/tubes.. Mostly because I kept the extras, though, although I have seen some photos of some questionable looking dispensers. Ours this trip was fine except a nozzle came off once. One actual benefit of the wall dispensers is I could actually use enough conditioner for my hair- I probably used the equivalent of a small tube each time I washed my hair.

The quality of the products isn’t very good combined with hard water really dries out your hair. I never use the products but my kids do . I still miss the Spa collection scent they used to have . Still reminds us of Beach Club our first resort !

Hmm, I haven't really noticed a difference. But that may just be me. (Fwiw I really dislike the dispensers, and think if you’re DVC or deluxe you should get real bottles at least!! Seems cheap…)

I purchased a bottle of body wash from my last trip this past April. It was in the original 'blushing orange' scent. The scent and the thick, thick texture were definitely way better than anything that I have ever gotten in the bottles in the room, no matter the scent.

That blushing orange scent gets me every time, makes me think of Disney from way back when...
