H1N1-Is is over?

I don't know about this state as a whole, but in our little neck of the woods we're still having it. Most of the doctors here are not saying "H1N1 or Swine flu" anymore. The are just testing for flu and only giving tami flu to babies and elderly or kids with other medical problems. Someone who works at one of our major medical clinics in town says there is a shortage of tami flu (not sure if that is local or national or just a rumor.)

DD's doctor said that if they have the flu right now, its swine flu, but that the media is blowing things way out of proportion.

My DD4 was just at the ER on saturday night...she had been sick since wednesday night...Dr did not test her for H1N1 as he said the tests are not accurate but based on her symptoms she has h1n1, and prescribed her tamiflu, and told me to give her motrin alternated with tylenol every 4 hours for her high fever..shes been running a fever of 102.7 and we cant go anywhere for 5-7 days until her fever is gone for 24 hours without the help of motrin/tylenol.

:hug::hug::hug:
Hope your DD gets better real soon.

Did your doctor give the list of warning signs to look out for?

http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/homecare/warningsigns.htm
In children, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:
Fast breathing or working hard to breathe
Bluish skin color
Not drinking enough fluids
Not waking up or not interacting
Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
Flu-like symptoms that improve but then return with fever and worse cough
Fever with a rash
Being unable to eat
Having no tears when crying

--another one not listed, if the fever goes away and then comes back - get in the ER right away. It means a secondary infection has taken hold and you will need antibiotics right away.
