costs are comparable (HI is a bit cheaper)
2 nights in first week of January
yes, there are kids

opinions are needed in order for us to decide!
Thanks for any assistance.

I think HI is more for family's to do stuff, and Hotel royal plaza is more adult setting.
My kids loved the HI, and they were able to do alot of stuff there with us like bingo, karaoke, and eat free, so it your going to base it on the kids, I 'd say Hi, If you base it on nicer more adulted themed the HRP.

Thanks mrsmom for helping me decide.

I liked the idea of us being a simple stress-free walk to Downtown Disney in evening, but I think with what you have added about the kiddie things at Sunspree that that's where we'll be. Glad to hear you & yours enjoyed these activities. Yes, this trip is based on the kids! Thank you.

We will be staying at Sunspree in 2 weeks. But just wanted to let you know that walking to Downtown Disney is possible, BUT it requires you to go along a very busy highway. I know that the website mentions walking but when I called the property, they recommended driving.

I'll know for sure in a couple of weeks. I'll try to come back and post a response then.

:Pinkbounc :bounce: You have no idea how happy you've made me! :Pinkbounc :bounce: I had read some horror stories on this site about HI Sunspree, but like you, my trip is about THE KIDS and that's why I booked this hotel. We're going there in Feb. I'd love to hear stories from others who stayed there with kids (mine are 6 & 4).

The kids activities are great, if you are going to spend much time at the hotel, and the pool is nice. However for us, the rooms felt old and kinda dirty, this is after the remodel. The "food court" was a joke. I've said before it's not a ruin your trip kinda place, but we certainly won't go back. In part I am sure it's just that we are accustomed to staying at nicer hotels, for some I am sure the accomodations are adequate.

For us, even though our trips are also about the kids, we decided to stay at the Courtyard right next door on our last trip. They had a nice game room, and our kids loved that. Plus the rooms were by far nicer and cleaner then the SUnspree. It would be quite a hike to DD from there, it's at least a mile and along a VERY busy road, I would advise driving.
