Got a gypsy for Christmas, now what on earth do I do with it? :confused3 I asked for it to consolidate my 80 some carts. I am hoping I can use it as a giant jukebox and still use my DS. My dual monitor is 19 inches so I prefer to use it on that big screen still. Can I? I am still doing all the firmware so I havent gotten to play with it all yet.

I just got mine today too! I finally got it charged and set the time--I can't get any you tube videos to load (maybe tomorrow or Monday). In the meantime I've updated my CDS and checked my firmware ;)

Any helpful hints out there? TIA :)

Got mine today also. I loaded about 6 cartridges before I had to leave for dinner. I had to have 2 updates and need to do another. I had 2 cartridges that I couldn't sync. I would also love to hear from the experienced gyspy users

I design in CDS and then load the file to the Gypsy to cut. Mine sometimes gives me an error message when I try to load the file. It works best if you are on "Fit View" when you save as a .gyspy file, and try not to have too many pages in your project. For whatever reason, the margins in the two programs don't seem to be exactly the same, so move your items in a little more than you normally would, because the ones on the G seem to be further in than on CDS.

You will love your Gypsy once you get used to it. I've had mine for almost a year and can't scrapbook without it now. Don't forget to register your Gypsy and download the Cricut Sync before Dec. 31st to get the 6 free cartridges!

oh my Holly! i didn't know about that! i too join in the gypsy club :teeth:

OOh - I just ordered an expression bundle from HSN that included the Gypsy - and I wasn't sure if I was going to keep it or not but I travel for work and that would be an awesome way to take my cartridges with me without the cartridges it sounds like (is that how this thing works?) Too bad I won't have it by 12/31 to get free carts ;( Not arriving until Jan 6th.

I would love more info on this contraption though if anyone has it for newbies. I have a baby bug but am finally upgrading it!

I got a Gypsy too for Christmas and am loving it a lot more than I thought I would. It's so easy to not have to deal with switching carts. The end of January I'm going to a week end crop and am so psyched that I don't have to pack up all my carts. I can just grab the gypsy and my cricut and go. Well I do have to load up all the paper and other stuff I have.

I love, love, love my Gypsy. Have fun with your new toys, ladies. :goodvibes

I got one too (I bought it ahead, but put it away for DH to give me as my Christmas gift) so I'm still working on learning it.

I love it so far.

I got one also and can't wait not to have to lug all the cartridges to my scrap weekend also. I put all the cartridges on there and between my and MIL we have 60 cartridges. Sure glad I don't have to pack them

So once a cart is "permanently linked" to a Gypsy, can ever be put on to another one? I'm guessing it can't. PC is too smart to let us all share our carts and not buy them.
