DD wants a pair of the shorts you can wear with your leotard. I think they are called bar shorts? How do these run sizewise? She wears a childs medium in the GK Elite brand, do you think she would wear a medium in the shorts as well? I usually get her leos on ebay or a second hand store, where is an affordable place to get leos or shorts?

Does your gym have a sportswear store associate? I would go try on the shorts, personally. They're too expensive not to make sure you've got the right size. The problem is that you want the shorts to be pretty tight, or else they'll cause problems while she's trying to work out. My daughter was on the borderline for the shorts, so I went the next size up, but then she said they were making her slip on the bars. I figure eventually she'll grow into them!

And oh, by the way, hers did seem to shrink *slightly* even though they never went in the dryer.

Our gym has a "leo swap" a couple of times a year where you can buy/sell/trade outgrown gym clothes. If your gym doesn't have that, you could try organizing one.

My daughter also wears a CM in GK and she can wear either a medium or a large in the shorts. Just make sure you buy a color that will match everything.

I recently purchased an AM pair of bar shorts for my daughter, and they were teeny. I ended up paying shipping to exchange for an AL, which are better. I would definitely go up AT LEAST 1 size on these GK shorts. Hope this helps!

What size does your daughter wear in regular clothes? My DD7 just started taking gymnastics and I would like to get her more leotards (she only has 1 and I bought it from target) TIA!!

If you can sew bar short are pretty easy to make. My girls are both on team so I try to look for littl ways to cut costs here and there. I also found that discount gym supply had cheaper short than the ones sold at the gym.

My daughter is 7, she wears M or L bar shorts, they are very tiny and fitted (snug), but that is how they are supposed to be. Needless to say, she wears them in the gym only :O)
