GVC access to DCA

My wife and I will be spending 6 nights at GVC in Sept. I've been reading on the Disneyland boards about the problems with the rides in the new Cars Land and the very long waits at 8:00 in the morning just for FP's. So I was wondering to what extent the advantage may be by staying at GVC. It would seem to be a huge advantage, but people getting in line around 8:00-ish are waiting a half hour just to get a FP for 5:00 or 6:00 PM. Yikes! So any strategy or advice from GVC guests for seeing Cars Land would be appreciated. Thanks.

We spent June 16th-18th at the villas. It was wonderful. We were let in at 7:30am, and headed to fastpass. We waited at max 10 minutes for a fastpass. The return time was always before noon. After getting a fastpass, we would ride the other two attractions with a minimal wait. We got our exploring of the land done after that. We did a couple other things outside of the land and return with fastpasses for racers. The entire process was pretty easy. Don't waste your morning waiting in the regular line for racers. We noticed it did not always open right away.

We stayed at VGC from June 14-20. We found the DCA entrance from GC very useful. My suggestion for RSR fastpasses is to use the EMH mornings for DCA and arrive at the private entrance at least 30 mins prior. The line was quite long with all 3 hotels being able to use it. On Mon, Jun 18, they stated they were not opening the RSR fp line until 8am but they actually opened it at 7:40 and I got 9:10am fp. They were all gone within an hour.

You have a better chance for earlier times if you use the private entrance on EMH. Beat the regular park opening people to the line at least.

Thanks for the help. That's exactly the insight I was looking for. Now I guess we just have to hope all the bugs are worked out by the time we get there and the ride is running full time!
