Have you ever had the maximum people stay at a GV? We have extended family that constantly hints about "joining" us on our WDW trip. We have a GV booked at OKW. Currently, we have a comfortable 7 staying. If extended family joins us, we'd be at 13 (not so comfy) Just wondering how things worked out with every sleeper surface taken up. I'm thinking the 3 bathrooms would be really busy!

Depends on how you feel about a villaful, I'd say. If everybody staying gets along well, could work nicely.

That's especially so at OKW which has much more spacious Grand villas and two floor levels to sort people a bit more than on just a single level.

I guess a lot would depend on a number of factors. Size of each family unit, how well you get along for extended periods and the ages of the 13 people (one is under the age of 3?, because occupancyis limited to 12 + a child under 3). Who shares which bathroom? How are groceries handled? Who ends up on the pull-out sofa bed?

I don't think that I would ever invite someone who constantly hints at joining me on vacation. I would show them a link to one of the DVC rental sites and tell them that they can join me that way. I assume that you booked a GV for 7 people, instead of a 2BR, because you wanted real beds, enough bathroom space and privacy for everyone. Adding 6 more people will completely change those plans.

We were supposed to have 9 in the BWV GV last December and ended up having 7 - and it was amazing. Every couple + me got their own room/area, and we had plenty of space. We could've made 9 work, but there would've been some shuffling and space sharing. Just sharing to say that the less people in a GV space, the more awesome it is

I completely agree - let them know where you are staying and they are welcome to rent their own place there, or somewhere else and meet up with you at the parks. That's nearly doubling your group, and quite an imposition, no matter how well you get along.

you could have enough bed space for 13 including an infant, but it probably won't be terribly comfortable for everybody.

The limit is 12 +1 under 3, The OKW GV has 4 full bathrooms. We go with 11, 6 adults and 5 kids. Space has never been a problem. You just have to put a few in the LR that go to bed late and get up early

Thanks for the help. I'm going to suggest they get their own place. My two DD's each have families so no way would they give up a room. So the SIL would end up in the living room, and I just think it's awkward maneuvering around people in the morning, or late at night.

OKW GV’s have 4 full bathrooms. I cannot figure out why the RIV GV’s only have 3. 13 would be a full house and VGF is probably set up the best for that, because the sofa bed is in the entertainment room, no the living room, if I remember correctly. There are a couple of GV’s that have 2 diff ent sofa beds for a maximum of 14 sleeping surfaces, but you are limited to 12 + 1 infant.

AKV Kidani GF’s have 14 sleeping surfaces (1 king bed, 2 queen beds, 4 queen sofa beds) which is nice if your group of 12 or fewer includes folks who don’t want to share a bed/sofa.
