GV at HH for Thanksgiving - how hard?

We've never had this situation come up before, but we have 365 pts. to use next year or we lose them. We already have 2 trips planned and are now thinking that maybe we could go to HHI for Thanksgiving and reserve a GV. Of the 365 pts. only 200 are HH pts. We figure we can book the holiday using our HH pts. and then at 7 mos. add on the days prior using the other pts. Any experience reserving a GV at Thanksgiving? Are they hard to get?

I haven't reserved a GV for Thanksgiving myself, but if I wanted to, I think I'd be reserving it day-by-day, right at the 11-month window.

HH has been at 100% capacity for the past several Thanksgivings. Unlike the summer, it seems most guests do not check out on Friday morning because of the point structure, but stay till Saturday or Sunday. Also, I think a lot of people check in on Sunday and pretty much stay the week. Last year, we arrived on Tuesday -- early afternoon -- and the resort was already pretty full.

I guess what I'm getting at is that I don't know that you'd have the opportunity to book the "days before" at the 7 month window... You might want to start looking for someone to swap points with.
