Guy Fieri - Diners, Drive Ins and Dives

They've featured at least one diner neart me, The Skylark, but I've not seen the episode.

I love Triple D. Guy is my fave host on that channel. I have tried a few of the places he has been too. My fave that Ive tried has been the "Mad Greek" in Baker, Ca. Its basically in the middle of nowhere on the way to Vegas. But the best Gyro I have ever had. Delish lamb. And DBF loves it too.

We live in NJ and have been to a number of the places Guy has featured. We used to live in Central Jersey and have been to the Americana Diner in Hightstown, now that we live in North Jersey we've been to the Jefferson Diner and this past weekend, we did a "road trip" to Jersey City to the Brownstone Diner and Pancake Factory for the most wonderful pancakes.

We're dying to make a road trip to Pittsburgh to Primanti Brothers for those amazing sandwiches.

We watch Guy and Adam Richman all the time.

We've been to a few places he's featured here in Chicago. The first, Smoque a BBQ place. That's one of our favorite places to go. It's the best BBQ I've ever had. We also tried an Italian place, Tuffano's. I really enjoyed the stuffed shells and meatballs but their regular spaghetti with sauce, no thanks!

I met Guy once at a Cubs game, too. It was so cool!

Cool... great picture! I want to come up to the city to try Smoque.. It looked awesome...

I think he is soo cool and nice. Very down to earth and truly genuine.

I do worry about his eating habits too - lol -

I really like the show but its on all the time. Food Network burns people out. They find a good host and then put them on 62 shows and shove them down your throat all the time ala Emeril, Bobby, RR and Paula.
One other problem is its hard to easily research places he visits. For example your traveling to Texas. You should be able to search where in Texas DDD has been. It would be a great feature on the FN website and very helpful.

Guy is great!

We drove across country earlier this year and visited two diners he visited. One in San Antonio Texas (Tip Top Cafe), the one where you had to wait outside to get in and the restrooms were outside. Also, a diner in San Pedro California (The Gaffey Street Diner) near my hometown. :thumbsup2

a couple of months ago we went to the casinos in CT and on the way there we stopped at Super Duper Weenie. On the way home we had brunch at Valencia's Luncheria.

I remember this episode and Valencia's is one place I really want to try. I see the sign for Super Duper Weenie whenever I drive to my dad's house. That place looks cool too, but I'm not really adventurous with hotdogs. Kraut and mustard is about my limit.

I like him, but I get a little tired of him calling every single food item a "bad boy".

If he ever wants to do Thai on DDD, he should check out a place called Ali's Thai Kitchen in Medford, Oregon. It's on a highway in a relatively industrial part of town, in a crappy old building that looks like it was a diner about 30 years ago and sits next to a U-Haul lot. But the food is fantastic.
