Gustav

Keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

My parents are here with us in Orlando. Similar to the year Katrina hit, they had this trip planned beforehand. The Westbank of New Orleans doesn't look good - we're hoping and praying though. :sad2:

Corey are Julie's parents in a safe place from the storm?

My Dad and stepmom and close family on that side live 75 miles north of N.O. in St. Helena Parish (Greensburg). They are all hunkering down at Dad's house. Our major concern is wind and tornado damage. Please keep them in your prayers.

One of my brothers, a firefighter in McComb, MS, will be deployed to N.O. tomorrow as a part of the search and rescue team for after the storm hits.

My Mom and stepdad (also in the same parish), along with my grandparents will be together in her house. I am just hoping that they all stay safe and no danger heads their way.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected directly and indirectly because of these terrifying storms.

hey guys, they are really freaking me out here, here on the news they say that maybe Gustav is worst than Katrina..... is that true? Hope it isn't, I'm really worried about you, I can't stop talking to my mom about my Dis friends on the area Gustav is suppose to pass by..... sending pixie dust.

Your family are in my thoughts Julie

I hope everyone stays safe - everyone will be in my prayers

We just landed in New York and got our rental car. Our neighbor is staying (as of this morning). We're in the French Quarter, which is normally high ground, but I'm not pushing my luck with this one.

:sad2: But our cruise payment for this month went to evac airfare!

Julie, hope your family stays safe.

Glad you got to safer ground

I just finished working in the yard with my dad to board up my house. We are all set.

Everybody in the path of the storm ~ you are in my prayers. Please stay safe. I have a very big place in my heart for Cajun's (lots of family by blood & family by love). Y'all are a rare breed. I hope it weakens dramatically.

I am sending :wizard: to you all, people in the path and their friends and family alike. This is such a bad thing to have even be a possibility. to all!

CajunWDWFan - I love the peep holes in your plywood! That is a pretty good idea. When we boarded up and stayed during H. Dennis DH & I stood on the kitchen chairs and could see a little from the two inches at the top of the kitchen windows where the wood didn't cover. Might have cut some peep holes for the next time.

Julie - I hope your family stays safe and that you can maintain contact with them throughout. I know how it is to have family in the path and not being able to get in touch with them and know how they are. :grouphug:

My prayers for everyone that's in it's path, I'll be thinking of you all! Stay safe! It looks pretty bad :(.

We're getting wind and rain but nothing terrible just yet. The eye is supposed to hit Lafayette around 1pm-2pm. We still have power :) Not sure for how long.
