Gunite Pool, Do it Yourself Tile Replacement!

Arrgh! Our pool is 17 years old. Today, when they were closing it, I noticed some loose plaster (that was a first) under a row of tile. The tile is lifting up and it looks like I have, at this point, about 8 inches of tile to replace in the spring. Given the winter that's coming, I will triple that. Can this be a "do it yourself" project? It doesn't seem that complicated. I have a half a box of tile left over and I think International Pool Tile has something similar. I did have the spa tile repaired about 3 years ago and it seemed that the grout that he used was like the plaster. I should have paid more attention. Thanks.

I replaced mine once (and only once) around one of my skimmers. Used some waterproof epoxy and tile grout. NEVER AGAIN! I spent a full day doing it. Pool guy said they could've done it for $200 (and probably in 20 minutes). More then worth it to me next time.

Years ago I spent a truly nasty Saturday on a ladder cleaning out my disgusting gutters. The next year I found out that my yard man would do it for an extra $15!!!! Of course this was 25 years ago.

In current prices my yard man just charged me $375 to trim some bushes and small trees. I thought - I could do that. But it looks like someone took down a huge tree with all of the debris out in my front yard for the city to pick up. Three men spent quite awhile doing this. It was so worth it.
