Our local amusement park has metal detectors at the front gate. I hope Disney doesn't have to resort to that but there are a lot of crazy people in the world and a crowded theme park is a big target.
haha!Your right I also hope that Disney dose not have to and I think they won't. But give Disney some time maybe they can put a meet and great in front by the gate and the character can hug you and it be a secret metal detector.
And I have to ask. Was it really an "enormous" knife? Who would carry that in their pocket anyway? Are you sure it was a pocket knife with a typical 4 to 6 inch blade, that flips open? I would not consider that an enormous knife.
Just to be clear, Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort ban "weapons of any kind."

DCL has a "Zero Weapons Policy."

Why anyone feels then need to carry a weapon into WDW is beyond rational thinking.
You are incorrect, my son-in-law is an ATF agent working in South Florida and a security agent noticed a bump under his jacket, they took him aside asked if he had a weapon and he showed his credentials and they took the weapon placed it under lock and key and returned when we left the park. The only weapons you see are on the Sheriffs outside the gates. Just because your an officer of the law doesn't allow you to carry weapons into the parks.
