Hi. I made ressies for the dinner with TImon and Raifiki as my 3 yr old daughter is a HUGE Lion King fan. I don't hear much about this. Any opinions? I worry with only 2 characters participating!

Hi missytiffy,
It's been 6 years since we took out 5 year old niece to this character meal. She loved it and I got some great pictures. There weren't many people there so she got a lot of attention especially from Timon.

It's been a few years since we did the character dinner at Gulliver"s but when we did the food was very good, atmosphere wasn't hectic and had lots of plants like an atrium. Our service and the character interaction were great since there weren't many people there. Now that they offer great military/teacher/nurse/ discounts I wonder if it is more crowded now? Even if it is I still don't think you'll encounter the crowds at lots of other character meals. I think you'll enjoy it. Please give us a report when you get back!

We ate there with a rather large party, when DH was at the Dolphin for a business conference. Service was great, food was quite good....characters were, well lets say not the main focus for this group! ;) I'd dine there again......

We ate there 2 years ago because we were staying at the Swan and there was no wait at 8PM. It was close to empty, which meant the characters came around again, and again, and again. It was fun. We thought the meal was good, but costly.

Hi missytiffy -

We just ate there June 27. We were also told Timon and Rafiki would be there ... instead of Timon, Baloo was there with Rafiki. The characters were good ... my dd's (10 and 7) enjoyed seeing them. They came around a few times each.

Friday nights they have a Seafood buffet which was pretty good. They have really good king crab legs, peel and eat shrimp, some nice salads, steamed veggies and the rice was very good. Other than that it was just OK ... some chicken, other fish dishes that I didn't eat, and a pot roast type of thing. I would say that they don't have nearly as much to choose from as the Disney resort restaurant buffets or the park buffets. Now the dessert bar... that was something else ! Lots of yummy stuff to choose from !

They also have a kids buffet that had bow tie pasta with meatballs, mac & cheese, little hot dogs, mozarella sticks and corn on the cob. Also a kid oriented dessert bar with jello, cookies, tiny cupcakes, brownies and fruit. One dd had this and one ordered a la carte from the menu because she wanted pizza. They both seemed to like their dinners.

The service left a bit to be desired, unfortunately. Our server must have been very new and didn't speak English very well. My mom wanted seltzer with lemon to drink and he could not grasp what we meant. We tried for quite a while to describe what seltzer was ... and it wasn't happening ... i felt like I was on Candid Camera ! I made the mistake of saying "soda water" and he brought her a soda ... oh well. The poor guy was falling over himself apologizing for everything ... I felt bad for him ... he was really trying.

That was longer than I expected ... hope it helps you !

;) Cindy
