Guitar Hero III??

Is Guitar Hero III one of those things that's just going to be sold out everywhere? DS wants the bundle, with the guitar. I've been bugging him to let me know what he wants, and he didn't really know. Today, he springs this one on me.

If I've got a fighting chance, I'll try to find it, altho 3 Best Buys were sold out. If not, he gets an I.O.U. for Christmas.

That might be a toughie Mare. Guitar Hero for both the Wii and XBox is the hot ticket item this year. We were able to find one (for the Wii) but it took a bit of searching and about a week to find one - time is not on your side. That said, if it can come after Christmas or you'd be wiling to pay expedited shipping charges, you might try keeping an eye on this thread:

My child also sprung it on me at the semi-last minute that he wanted this. I never heard one word about it, nor was it on any of his lists. Boys, the great communicators....NOT! Good luck Mare! I'll keep my eyes open and if I see it I'll give you a shout.

Don't use Red Octane. We ordered Guitar Hero III from them in early November. Never shipped. Never answered an e-mail. Never returned a phone call. We cancelled the order and they claimed it was being shipped. Then they charged our credit card and finally credited it.

They're actually the original company that created GH. The movers and shakers left the company and produced Rock Hero. Judging from the chaotic way Red Octane handled our order, I think they're having troubles getting their act together.

My DH also wants Guitar Hero 3 for the Xbox 360. He actually told me I would never find it. I found it at Walmart.com. Regular shipping got it to me in 3 days (ordered Monday, arrived Wednesday). I checked every day. Good Luck!

Walmart has it, with a "wired controller (exclusive)". What the heck does that mean??? Are all Guitar Hero III bundles for XBox 360 the same??

OMG, they have the slowest shipping ever. I got all excited and ordered a guitar strap for Gabby that has skulls on it off of their eBay store. I did the BIN and this was on 12/07/07. I got it today which means they took 12 days to get it here and that was with UPS ground. To give you a comparison.....I ordered a cologne set that Gabby wanted through Amazon from an outside vendor on 12/15/07 and it got here UPS ground today too and it came from further away!

Please don't order from Red Octane and expect anything to get delivered quickly! Maggie

All bundles are not the same! For the Xbox and PS3, the guitar controllers have the same Les Paul shape to them. There was a PS2 bundle that came with two wired guitars, that I picked up at Target right after Black Friday and those guitars are shaped like Gibson SG's.

Wireless guitars are cool because you can "Rock Out!" anywhere you want to in the room. Also, two guitars are better than one, because Guitar Hero III has a co-op mode that let's two play at once. Maggie

OK, I think my head is going to explode.

Shape-wise, we're sort of partial to Les Paul because DH had a real one and actually met him and had his picture taken with him. So there.

I finally broke down and asked DS which he preferred, and he said "wired" would probably be better. ??? DD is driving him to soccer and I called her cell phone, so it wasn't exactly an indepth conversation.

I think I'm going to order it from WalMart, and if it turns out that it's not what he wants, then we'll join the long lines at the store after Christmas and return it.

About Guitar Hero. The guitar comes wired in most versions. It's fine. In fact we have Guitar Hero for Play Station with two guitars, one wired and one not. The one that is wired is a better guitar. For some reason, the wireless one doesn't work quite as well.

As someone who is now the proud owner of a wireless and a wired guitar hero thingy and doesn't know anything about anything I'd say go with the wired bundle. It seems to play better all around with better quality. I saw several bundles for the 360 at walmart in town here so I'm sure you can find it online.

I saw a bunch for xbox yesterday at the Cape Cod Mall.

We actually bought Rock Band a few weeks ago and LOVE IT. I was thinking about getting DH Guitar Hero because he loves the Guitar part of Rock Band and then we would have two guitars!!

I had pre-ordered one for my son at Gamestop and got it about a month ago. But then my nephew got a xbox 360 and wants one now too. I called, looked online, looked in stores and said forget it. If you don't end up getting one, I ended up getting him a gift card for $100 at Gamestop because I am sure after xmas is over they will have plenty in January sometime

Funny I read this post. My BIL just bought one and is returning it (long story why he's doing that). I told him to sell it on ebay because I thought they were bringing big bucks. I checked it out for him and there are all kinds of Guitar Hero 3 for Wii selling for $130.00. He bought his for $100 at Toys R Us. So if you are willing to spend the extra $30, go to ebay.

surprising..we had FABULOUS luck with Red Octane. Ordered it on a Tuesday, and it arrived by Friday.

Not sure how much GH3 is for Xbox, but ebay also has these for $140.
