I have been reading one of the guidebooks and it gives crows levels by date. It also states to avoid going to parks that have EMH that day because they will be busier. My question is if you are going to a park that is rated a 2 (scale is 1-10), why avoid the park. Its not going to jump up to a 7 or such because of the EMH right?
We are going Oct 16-21st and all the days are rated 2 for crowd level.

You can also do a search this forum and put in Len Testa, he often pops in to answer questions and explain the numbers from the UG website - (its a question asked a lot on this forum too, so if you'e curious, you can read others and get a good sense of what to expect!!)

Thanks Len!!

don't know anything about oct but when we go off season ( winter) we don't see a lot of difference in emh vs non emh days, not enough to have to leave or not go since there aren't a lot of people to start with. we usually do emh at each park once a tirp. the only time we have been amazed by crowds off season was Sat afternoon in fantasy land...steer clear of there!

Hi Honeybehr1,

Thanks for reading the book! Yes, it's possible to go to an EMH park when crowd levels are low and have a great time, even if we don't recommend that park on that day. What we're saying is that if you have a choice as to which park you'll visit on which day, you'll spend less time waiting in line if you follow our recommendations.

How much more time would you spend waiting in line if you went on a day we didn't recommend? It depends on where you're staying, the time you arrive at the park, the attractions you want to see, and whether you're using a touring plan. Using the Magic Kingdom as an example, if you follow the basic One-Day Touring Plan for Adults, you'd wait about a minute more per attraction, on average, on a non-recommended day. Over the entire day, it's about 20 to 30 minutes extra waiting in line.

That 20-30 minutes isn't much, but again, if you have a choice that makes it avoidable, why not avoid it? It's like getting an extra 30 minutes in the park!

Let me know if this doesn't answer your question, and thanks again for reading the book.

Sincerely,

Len Testa

Thanks Len

I will surely post any more questions. I read the book at night once everyone is asleep because its a suprise - even have to hide the book :rotfl:
