Guidebook advice

Sorry if I am driving anyone crazy with my questions, but you have me so excited about planning my trip!

Based on advice here, I purchased 'Simon's' guide from Amazon.com, as well as the AA guide (both used copies at a great price; can't find them in any stores in Canada or the US)

I also have a copy of the 'mainstream' unofficial guide from 1992, which obviously is seriously out of date, has bare bones info since it was written and researched the year that DLRP opened.

Can anyone recommend the updated 'mainstream' guide, or should I just await the two that I ordered????

I bought the "Unofficial Guide" but wasn't impressed - I think Simon's is excellent.

I wasn't impressed with the unofficial guide either. You won't be disappointed in Simon's book. It is worth the wait. The new version is due out AFAIR in February

If you read the reviews on amazon they give the "unofficial guide" one star. From what I understand he lifted word for word whole sections from the walt disney world book and as one customer said, I find it impossible to imagine a french mother turning around and experiencing the exact scene that the mother in america had had disney world. I'm real disappointed because I love the WDW book, but I'm getting wise now, I think he wrote this years ago and just keeps reissuing it with a new cover.

Actually, there are two 'unofficial' guides - the white one is the one I believe that you are referring to. I am referring to Tania Alexander's blue 'unofficial' guide, which didn't appear too bad back in 1992 but obviously my copy is seriously out of date....

I'm pretty sure the Unofficial Guide to DLP is no longer in print, and hasn't been updated in a number of years. The last time I checked, Bob Sehlinger was making inquiries with the publisher to see if a new version was marketable. There are probably more up to date guidebooks available.

The UG to Walt Disney World, however, is updated twice annually. Next update is due out in March.

So the only current 'unofficial' guide is the blue one from Tania Alexander, which doesn't sound as good as 'Simon's guide', based on the comments so far.
