Guide book for US/IoA?

My DH and I have never been to either park. Can someone recommend a good guide? Or is it not really necessary?

We haven't been to Universal since 1992 and the only thing that was there WAS Universal!! No, CityWalk, IoA, etc..... So, having absolutely NO clue planning next year's trip to UO, I went searching for a guide book. (I wasn't as smart as you as to ask the DIS for which book!)....BUT, I bought "Universal Orlando 2005" by Kelly Monaghan...and I must say, I think it was an EXCELLENT book! I couldn't put it down! (Turns out this book has appeared on this site more than once ) Anyway, I would recommend that book...very easy to read, follow and full of all sorts of information!!

Best in-depth choice: Universal Orlando

I think the WDW Unofficial Guide is also great (for WDW & Universal) - love the tear-out park touring guides for the different parks.

Just a heads up for you on the boards: The new 2006 edition is just back from the printer.

It has reviews of the new attractions (Fear Factor, Donkey's Photo Finish) and has been competely revised and updated.

I just ordered mine for 2005. Wish I'd known 2006 was already out. I would have gotten that one instead!

Either way I'm sure it will help my OCD of planning!
