Guests on Multiple Reservations

Is there any downside to having the same guests on multiple reservations? As long as we stay below the listed capacity. We have a two bedroom and two studios booked in January across two hotels. I'm thinking about doubling up everyone to have access to both hotels pools. Also to make it easier should any of the kids need to nap and if the other hotel is more convenient. For reference it's 6 in the two bedroom, and one in each studio (siblings who apparently can't share), with the studios at the 2nd hotel. I could put the two singles onto the two bedroom, and split the two bedroom guests into each studio.

Just wondering if that will mess up magic bands or anything like that.

I think you're going to have a problem doing something like this. Each guest will be identified in MDE, and you won't just be able to get them access to both hotels. I think they'll need to be assigned one reservation for the Magic Bands/MDE to work.

For this to work...and they would have to use different magic bands not currently linked or go to the front desk to get key cards, use a variation of their names. Like John vs Jon. James vs Jim. That type of thing.

You won't be able to use the same magic band for the same person with different resort reservations

While you can always list them, the problem comes in that the same person can not be checked into two hotels at the same time.

We have done this and we had to be checked off one and active on the other. It was not the entire party though, so some of us were always just in one.

Not sure how it works for everyone

This is exactly what happened when we visited in early June. We had three families in a 2 BR and a 1BR. I hoped we could access each other's rooms and listed adults on each room. But alas, at registration, we had to specify exactly who was in each room and no double listing allowed. Everything worked out but was a little inconvenient for grandma and grandpa.

You can create a second guest for each one of those people. Use initial or middle name or something so there is the main profile for them and a second profile under a pseudo name or second name. They won't use their band they use at the other location but they'll have the access. It starts giving you a lot of people in MDE though.

Just request a room key card for each unit, swap that card with someone in the other unit, and use that to enter the other room. And use your Magic band for your "home" unit.

My experience was in 2018, so not super recent, but I had no issues.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom at BWV, and my parents stayed at POP but wanted to switch to our room for their last night. Their magicband was able to open both rooms for the duration of our trip.
