Sorry to hear you had problems. They are NOT speedy in replying (you get an autoreply first when you send it out, then a live human being gets back in touch with you in anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks), but, they DO read everything you send, & WILL reply if you request a response. Also, if you want them to call you and you always have your cell phone on & with you, I recommend you provide THAT as your phone number, as they always call me at home when I'm working.
Lisa- is this something you can share? I understand if you'd rather not discuss the issues but transportation problems always concern me. I had a driver refuse to take me last month and still haven't dealt with that one.---Kathy
Transportation issues were several.
1. Drivers refusing to acknowledge me sitting there but boarding other people.
2. Drivers not asking guests to release seats so they can load a wheelchair when there are other seats available.
3. General slowness of buses to Pleasure Island. An hour wait for a bus one night.
Wow! I'm not sure what specifically can be done about the hour wait (except scheduling to prevent it in the future), but I would have been discussing matters with a Transportation Supervisor - if not right at the time I was having those problems, as soon as possible afterwards.
A couple of us had an issue with the queue/loading procedure at Epcot one night. Because I was more irate than rushed, I requested and waited for a Transportation Lead (who explained there should have been somebody there controlling the line, but...). Anyway, they promised to have a Manager call me in the mornng - and he did.
Sounds like a similar issue. I had the most rude bus driver ever at MK in the early afternoon. There weren't many guests and I was sitting in plain sight but he ignored me until a guest going up the steps told him I was waiting too. He huffed and groaned and finally let the lift down, tried to refuse to let me drive forward which is what my chair requires for safety ( which I explained) then he told me that the lift was broken so he couldn't bring me anyway. How it magically became "broken" when it came down to get me I don't know. Anyway I had to sit there and wait for the next bus. Thankfully that driver was very kind. It just takes one person like that though to ruin your day. I try not to let it bother me but it does. I hope you get some satisfaction!---Kathy
Lisa, I'm so sorry you had those problems. While I an understand there may be reasons for a delay on the PI bus, there really is no excuse for the other problems you encountered with the bus drivers, not boarding you, or even acknowledging you, is just plain uncalled for.
By all means report those problems to Disney!
