We are arriving on a Friday afternoon, AUG 22nd and staying at the YC. I was wondering if I could walk over and get DD her DAS card that evening without entering the park. Is there one outside the park, at the International gateway entrance? I was hoping to save time when we go to EPCOT on Saturday She has DS and ASD, and heart issues she uses a transport stroller, but can walk short distances.

We have been to Disney many time with our family of four, but this time we also have my MIL, SIL and her 2 children, 6 and 8. What are the chances we can get a DAS that would cover the 8 of us, so we can stay together?

Yes, there is a Guest Relations at International Gateway. Some posters have been able to request DAS there and others were not.
The issue was whether or not the iPad and printer that are needed to issue DAS were available there at the time or not.
The inside the parks Guest Relations are the only places where guests are guaranteed to be able to request DAS.
I guess if you are OK with going there and being told they can't issue one, it's worth the trip.

Most of the time, the wait at the inside the parks is not going to be that long - less than 15 minutes for the wait and requesting the DAS.

She would be able to use her stroller in lines all the way to the ride boarding area. If there us any chance her transport stroller might get mistaken for a regular stroller, she would need to get a 'stroller as wheelchair' sticker for it.
That is separate from DAS ; you would need to explain how/why the stroller does not meet all her disability related needs while in line.

If you have not checked out the WDW DAS thread near the top of this board, it would be helpful to you to check out it out. The first post in that thread is a DAS FAQs.

DAS is usually issued for up to 6 (5plus the person with a disability). They can issue DAS for up to 10. The information I have is that all members need to be present to get a DAS for more than 6 and it also requires a supervisor to OK numbers greater than 6 at WDW.

Thanks Sue. I always enjoy a walk around Crescent Lake, so we'll just make a little detour. Planning a trip for 8 people, is a challenge. Especially with all the changes (DAS and Fast Pass+) just since our last trip in August 2013. Planning ahead as best I can, knowing full well that something will always pop up and change our plans for us.:rotfl2:
