We purchased 10 day NE PH WPM tickets (2 adult and 2 child) last year. We have each used the tickets. So now the following applies:
Used tickets are non-transferable and must be used by the same person for all days the ticket is valid. Guests with remaining days on tickets that they used when they were children may be upgraded to the Adult (Ages 10+) equivalent ticket type at any Theme Park ticket window or Downtown Disney Guest Relations. There is no charge for upgrading a used Child (Ages 3-9) ticket to an Adult (Ages 10+) ticket.
Not sure if I copied that from this message board or from a FAQ page on Disney's website. We are going to water parks only on an upcoming trip to Orlando (not a full Disney vacation, staying offsite). Our oldest daughter turns 10 before we will need to use the tickets again. The note says "any Theme Park ticket window or Downtown Disney Guest Relations". Is there availability for this upgrade at both of the water parks as well? Thanks.
