Guest of Honor???

Ok...So, I'm looking at Gifts of A Lifetime...Questions on these badge things...What are they for? What are the benefits? I'm thinking about having them waiting for the boyfriend when we check in...thought it would be another one of those little things...I'm planning to have "Mickey" send him a post card prior to our departure...Do these badges have the same "magic" that they do in the World...either way I thought it would be "magical" to have these waiting at the desk when we check in...

Any ideas or thoughts!!!

I bought them for our Oct 01 vaca and brought them back last year. Will have them again this Nov.

We wore ours when we did the land/sea back in '99. Never saw anyone with them on the ship and didn't get much response from cast members. Never wore them on excursions. Haven't packed them since. We use them at the parks all the time, but not on DCL.

We did do buttons with a DIS names on them for the DVC Member Cruise and that was a big hit with DIS'ers and crew members alike. One of the women on our 5/10 cruise is making us buttons so we'll wear those. I'm also going to put one of the green mickey's from Home Depot in our DVC Member Cruise lanyard we got - should make it easy for DIS'ers to spot us.

What is the response like from the cast members in the parks and the hotel?

My twins wear their GoH badges every trip. They are always called by name when in the parks. The CM's always seem to stop and talk to them once they see those badges..it seems to put it at a more personal level.

It is pretty funny, because my DD will always looked shocked at the begining of each trip when the CM's DO know her name. Then she remembers that she has on her GoH badge.

ok cool..I hope it has the same effect with adults...it may sound silly but every bit of Disney Magic I can get to get the boyfriend to believe is worth it!!!

He has no clue what he is in for!!!
