Help! I ordered guest of honor name badges from The Laughing Place.com and they won't be here in time for our departure to the World. Where can I buy them quick when we get to DW? I want to make sure my girls have them first thing. Thanks!!

DTD Xmas shop in the back there is a room where there personalize stuff. Thats the only place that had them when I was there back in Feb. MGM 5 & 10 were out of them, and in MK no one even knew what they were when I asked!

Thanks Alison for your reply. I am really bummed that these are not coming before our trip. Anyone out there with better news!

Don't know when you're going, but I ordered some from giftsofalifetime.com. I think they buy them and have them personalized the way you want, and they can actually have them delivered to a WDW resort for you to pick up at check-in. Just did this a week ago and worked fine. I saw no other kids at WDW who had these badges, and the kids loved getting called by name from various CMs, characters, princesses, etc...

I think their turnaround time is pretty quick, too, so if you order now you might be able to get it in time. Saves you from having to go somewhere and get them, too - they're ready when you get to your hotel!

I also got my kids' GOH badges at the Christmas store in DTD, thanks to this board. I had about 5 different times when people in the parks came up to me asking me where I got them from! So alot of people don't know they are there...I think at the time I got them, last October, they were $5.00 each, and the personalizing was free. I am not sure if they are the same price now, but I wanted to save a few bucks and get them myself, since we were going to DTD first anyways.

This past Friday we went to our local Disney Store to get my 4DD some Cinderella "glass" slippers.

We chatted with the CM who checked us out about our trip in May. She told me to call Guest Services at WDW to order a Guest of Honor badge for my DD. I had never heard of them before. She said it will prompt Cinderella while we are ate the princess breakfast.

So, what are some of the perks for having a GOH badge?

I was thinking of getting these, too. But, I am always leary of getting anything with the kids names printed on it - t-shirts, etc. because then a stranger would know their name and the kids may think the person knows them, is safe to talk to, etc.

Any opinions. I'm figuring the kids will never be out of our sight at WDW so maybe it will be okay?

I am thinking they will be fine. I think the fun/good things that would come from having the badge far out weighs the negative possibilities. Just my opinion. I can't wait to see my girls' faces when they see them.

Thanks so much for your input. The badges I ordered actually had princesses on them and they were pink. The ones on the Gifts of a Lifetime website were the Mickey ones. Does the DTD Christmas shop have both or just the red Mickey ones?

We went in April and they only had the red mickey ones. We only found them cause my friend is a shop a holic and will wander around stores at great length. At DTD christmas store is the only place we saw them.

That depends on what you've taught your kids about strangers, talking to them, reacting to them, etc... and also probably based on how old your kids are. Mine know to never go anywhere with a stranger, or even certain other family members, unless mom or dad say it's OK first. They also know that if they are ever picked up by someone against their will, they are to kick, hit, scream, bite, etc... and scream "this is not my parent" at the top of their voices. Plus they're 8 and 5, and we were with them the entire time, so I wasn't worried. If your kids are younger, or if they're older and might be out of your sight, you would have to judge for yourself. Nobody knows your kids like you will. However, I think the fun of them far outweighs the possible negative effects, which can be avoided if handled correctly.

Our kids will be 6, 7, and 8 when we're there.

We have taught them all the exact same stuff about strangers, but - I saw that show on Oprah with the parents who swore they'd taught their kids all the same things and their kids would NEVER go with a stranger, etc. Then, they video taped the kids at a playground with a stranger coming up to them and EVERY kid went with him! It scared the daylights out of me.

I think everyone's right, though. It will be more fun than it would be a hazard.

I wonder if you order them from Guest Services if they can have them waiting for you? How far in advance would you have to call?

Good luck - let us know what you did! ;)

I would love to get my DD one with princeses on it..
Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like?
I have seen the red mickey ones and will get that one for DS,
Thanks

I found this princess one at laughingplacestore.com

Hey Tigge, those are the badges I ordered from Laughingplace.com and they never came in. When I called they gave me a story about the machine being broken at Disney. Then they emailed me and said the person who shops for them was sick and they would send them ASAP and refund my money. Now, they have emailed again saying they will ship them but it is after our departure to DW. Eek! What to do? I still want them to have the princess ones but I need them for this trip and we leave in 7 days.

Hokiefan33, your post reminds me of DS first Disney trip 16 years ago. We were staying at the Poly and taking turns bringing him back to the hotel for an afternoon nap. It was DH turn to take him on the monorail and he had a meltdown refusing to go so DH picked him up and started walking. DS started screaming at the top of his lungs : NO, NO, NO. I don't want to go with you. I WANT MY MOMMY. Over and over and over. And noone so much as looked at DH as he kept on walking. Now I know we didn't have Amber alerts back then or anything but we have all commented thru the years how surprised we were that no one (guests or staff) even questioned what was happening. Valerie

My wife is a little outta control. She ordered both the red badges and the princess badges. So we have 2 badges for each of them.
