Guest of Honor Badges

My family and I are going to WDW in three weeks (wow, only three weeks!) and my daughter just asked me if we could get Guest of Honor badges for the trip. I am aware that you can order them ahead of time, but I would prefer to avoid the shipping cost if I can. I know there are only a few places at WDW to buy them, but I can' t remember where they are. Can anyone help me out here?

The one place I know for sure is @ DTD in the Christmas store. They have a small room at the very back of the store where they will either have your name in stock, or they will make one for you while you wait. I think there are other places, but I got ours there.

You can get them at a little store in MGM that sells robes and blankets and stuff. It's the only store that does engraving at MGM, and I think it's just on the right hand side as you start down the street that Beauty and the Beast is on. There is no longer a rack hanging with them, you have to ask for them. We all have them, and it's tons of fun, especially for kids. The cast members all call them by name and it really adds to the magic.

I hope a DISer can clarify. In October the machine that makes special guest of honor badges at the Celebrity 5 and 10 in MGM was waiting for a part. Has anyone purchased GOH badges there recently. They did have some premade badges, but I had to travel to DTD and the Christmas shop to get "alison" spelled with only one "L". It only took about 10 minutes once we were there.

We got one made at MGM for my son on January 3rd - is that more recent than you were there?

Thanks jfranklyn! Yes we were there in October, getting badges for our Christmas trip, and the CMs were very vague about when their machine would be back online. The missing part had been gone about a month they said. Good to know this location is back up to 100% for creating GOH badges.
