Guest count increases, how long will it take?

With the new restrictions being removed and hopefully seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, how long do you think it will be before a large influx of new bookings appear? I know with the call times, it wont be fast, but do you think May will be pushing up against the true full capacity again? June? All waiting for the Wish?

There is a comment that said that the Dream had 2500 recently but they were expecting 4000 in the next couple of weeks. I know it is all hypothetical, but do you see 1500 MORE people booking in a short window?

I think it will happen this month. I've already read stories of some non Disney ships being at near capacity

The ships that leave starting this weekend and for the next 2 weeks will be the before and after Easter break cruises. I don’t think we can really gauge the crowd level until the April 23rd and after cruises—guess what? I’m on the April 23rd Cruise. We were on the February 26th 7 night cruise which had 2060 passengers and there were a lot of kids. I can’t imagine what the numbers will be starting this Friday and Saturday. Hopefully someone will post. I did read the Fantasy out right now had 2500. That’s not too bad.

Carnival, RCCL and NCL reported they had more bookings last week that in the history of their companies. Not since the pandemic, in the HISTORY of their companies. So guest counts will be heading up.

I think they will fill back up quicker than any of us can predict. Inflation aside, there is a huge pent up desire for travel and people are booking. Especially with pandemic restrictions quickly disappearing, I think nearly full cruise ships by June is likely.

On fantasy they told us last week that they were expecting 3500-4000 on April 9

Considering you can currently still book every category it doesn’t seem likely… now our May 7th Fantasy cruise is showing no availability for inside or ocean view staterooms

I hope not! That’s the cruise I’m headed on…was hoping for a few less people 😂

Our Fantasy May 14 is now completely gone from the site, I don't know if I should be glad they pulled it, sad it is full, or another one of the IT failures :)

or it could be pulled because they are assigning GTY rooms, and will re-appear again

I don't think anyone actually knows the reason cruises are pulled from the list, do they?. It could be that it is completely full, or it could also be that it is "full" to the capacity they are allowing right now. It seems a little hard for me to think that they would go from say 2,500 on the Dream all the way to 4,400 immediately. There are bound to be staffing issues just like they had in the parks. I would think it would be a little more gradual over the next few months. Maybe to 2,700, then 3,000, then 3,500, etc. Then again, I could be totally wrong. LOL

You can still access it via the discount page and it is showing availability in every category (unlike the sailing prior) so I think you are fine.

Or it could be random glitches. The May 16th Dream cruise occasionally disappears and reappears and it still has cabins showing available all the time.

Back again, with inside now gone, so we will see!
What do you have in your search settings? I see standard inside available on decks 8, 9 and 10 for 2 adults.

ETA: inside disappears when I do 2 adults + 2 kids, so no inside rooms for 4 are left.

Believe it was 4

Our May 21st Fantasy sailing shows no availability for a family of 4, but interestingly it shows everything is available except for inside cabins if I switch it to two adults or two adults and one child. Out of curiosity, I clicked through the verandah rooms and they say those sleep 3-5. Is there a kid limitation perhaps? Wondering why it wouldn't let someone book as a family of 4, but it would for a family of 3.

Yes at times, the number of kids is the limited factor. This is due to the space in the kids clubs, etc. So if the space in the clubs all fill out based on the projected number of children on board, then yes, they won't show rooms being available based on party size if they include children.
