We stayed at the HRH back in early June. I had booked the room at a discounted rate and I am a Loews Member. After reading many threads on these boards, I knew it would be a toss up whether we received our cookies and milk or any type of upgrade since we weren't paying full price for the room. As I was checking in at the front desk, I presented my Loews card. The gentleman taking care of me explained that we couldn't receive any of the "free" benefits that came with the card since we had a discounted rate. Notice he said "free". I commented that I guess it really didn't make those benefits "free" then. So he handed me the room keys and explained a bunch of hotel info to me and asked if I had any other questions. I asked about the CD you get at check in. I was then told that was one of those "free" things I missed out on with my discounted rate. My husband was so looking forward to having that CD. He is a huge music fan and just loves to go to HR Cafes just to look at all the memorabilia. We had seen something about the HRH on the Travel Channel or something once and they said everyone staying received a CD at check in and he thought that was so cool! Well, I had booked the HRH for 4 nights as a surprise for him. He thought we were staying at WDW for the entire 13 nights, but I changed things around to surprise him. I was just stunned when they told me I couldn't have a CD. He was walking all over the lobby video taping and I had to go tell him I couldn't get a CD unless I paid full price for a room. I practically begged the gentleman taking care of me and he offered me to blow up guitars for my kids! Yippeee! We did have a wonderful time, but everytime we came back to our room, my DH just looked at the CD player in the room and made some comment about how stupid it was. Upon leaving and checking out, they left a comment card with our bill. He took time to fill it out and in the comments noted his disappointment with the CD policy. We never heard a word from HRH until yesterday. In the mail was a black envelope with the HRH return address in the corner and addressed to my husband. It was the shape of a CD. He opened it up and low and behold there was the CD he wanted!! No letter or anything, just the CD. Wow! It would've been nice to have some type of note inside, but hey, he's happy now!
