Guess what I just found out??

I took my GED test a few weeks ago. Yes, I dropped out of highschool. Chalk it up to foolishness and stupidity Happy to say that I've grown up since then. Anyway, the mail just came and I got the results from the test. And I PASSED!!!!

Now I can go to nursing school in the Spring like I've dreamed about for so many years.

Just had to share!

One of my nieces dropped out of school at 16 and at 19 still hasn't finished her GED.... She has just been going from one low-paying job to another. We all hope that some day she'll finish.

JESW- I dropped out of HS almost 10 years ago. It was a decision I have always and probably always will regret. DH graduated HS and went on to college and for so long I have felt like there was/is SO much more I can and want to do with my life. I love my children and DH but I want to do something for ME. Hopefully somewhere down the road your niece will realize that and get her GED as well. Being a nurse is something I've dreamed about since our first DS was a baby. I knew that I had to have my GED to even start nursing school. I am so happy now, I feel like I am floating!

Congratulations! I volunteer as a tutor for people taking the test and I was amazed at how hard it is! You just don't go "get your GED". You really have to earn it! You must be really proud of yourself!
