Guess what DVC is getting?

I hope I am posting this in the correct area. I just got back last night from a week at WDW

I had dinner on my bday last Monday at Boma, and found out in several other area in the park also,

end of this year breaking grounds and opening phase one fall 07 -- villas at AKL YAY!!!!

I have had a few CM's also tell me this info was also on their webpage for WDW employees........

I just returned also.

I do believe they have started the construction at VWL already - It is well on the way of being built from ground up.

The 5th and 6th floor of the Lodge is being renovated for DVC also

The rooms will be a little larger than OKW and the bedrooms will allow one extra person - i.e. where it is now 4 or 5 people allowed, 5 or 6 people will be allowed to stay in the rooms

In the larger rooms there will be an extra bathroom also


The west wing of Contemporary is being totally renovated and is being made into DVC and there will be a walkway directly into the 4th floor concourse of the Contemporary

That will take longer due to the fact that it is not a "new" construction and new wiring will have to go in along with other new renovations.

Welcome back from your trip They are converting 2 floors of AKL to DVC, plus building a freestanding building.

Yep, and the mods have created an "official thread" containing the press announcement and an artists rendering We are asking that all discussion of AKL be limited to this thread at least for now.
