For those of you traveling down after May 27th, Guardians of the Galaxy will be open at Epcot. I wasn't going to buy Genie+ for our Epcot day when we go, but I just might now as there will be TONS of people in that park going forward. Now, what type of lines it will have, who knows (i.e., Virtual Queue, $LL, Standby, etc). My guess is they will want to get right in with the $LL to make a crap ton of money LOL

I was thinking about going down for a quick three days just to ride. Then I realized exactly what you have stated above, there might be a virtual queue so I think I am going to wait till the fall or even next spring because I would hate to go down for one park day and not be able to even line up to ride it!
The new Disney really just keeps pushing me away, it makes me so sad!

The last two park days of our trip are May 27th and 28th. My husband and son are VERY excited about this ride. After the announcement I switched both of our Epcot days to the 27th and 28th.

I’ve been to Epcot so many times over the last decade I’m not terribly worried about the crowds. On the flip side if it’s just impossible to get on without a 6 hour wait or something equally nutty, we know we will be back and we won’t worry too much.

Basically I have to try since we will be there anyway.

If only Tron was opening soon too I'd book a trip for sure :D but I'm reluctant to book for one ride though it is one I would love to do. For now I'll wait and see what they do with virtual queue or whatever.

100% I would have done the same!
I hope you guys get to ride it, I am sure it will be awesome.

I'm there for the first 2 weeks of May... I'm really hoping for either an AP preview or a stroke of luck with a soft open day on one of my Epcot days.

I’m waiting for both to open and give it awhile!

OMGosh I'm as green as a jellybean for all you going in the next couple of months!!!! It's soooo exciting to see so many of us who have been talking, planning, cancelling and rebooking again FINALLY get to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sooooooo excited to hear some trip reports!!! We should have a little section of Canadian trip reports!!!!!

I have booked my third trip this year, just for GOTG. We are hoping to get in on the AP preview so going for 5 nights over the Victoria Day long weekend in May.

Unlike some, I like Virtual Queues. I have only failed once at getting a time slot when trying. We did Rise a month after it opened, and Remy a day after it opened with no issues.

Honestly, we’ve been going to Disneyland instead for the past few years, it’s so much more manageable! Something to think about…
