Guaranteed view?

We are staying at the Contemporary July 1 - July 4 on points. When my sister made the reservation about 2 months ago through Member Services, the CM on the phone told her we would have a room with a MK view in the tower (where we are using our points).

My question is - can this really be true? Everything you read says that Disney cannot guarantee room requests, including location. My sister is going to call MS tomorrow to ask about this, and if a room location can't be confirmed (as I suspect it can't), she will make sure they know that our #1 request is to have a MK view.

Got any input or experience with this issue? Thanks!

We've been through it. They'll tell you on the phone that you can request any room, but when you get there they apologize. I can understand not being able to hold your exact room, but don't lie to people.

I don't have any personal experience, but there now is a separate booking category for "Tower Magic Kingdom View" at the CR which costs more if booking with CRO for cash. Not sure how it works to reserve this category with DVC points.

The Tower rooms with a view of Bay Lake are a separate booking category from the Tower Rooms with a view of the MK - whether you book for cash via CRO or for points via MS. The rooms with a view of the MK cost more $$ / points. If you have booked a Tower room with a MK view, that is what you will get.

Yep there is a MK view in the tower on points now. It wasn't avail back when I booked our CR Tower stay on points.

So if you did pick that catergory and were deducted the appropriate amount of points then you will get the MK view.

Me, well I guess I am now the Bay Lake view (as they only had the option of Tower when I booked, it wasn't broken down between the two) so I am hoping I can get an MK view.

Thanks for your responses. Sounds like all we need to do is call to confirm that we were "charged" points for an MK view.
