There are normally multiple GT Types of rooms available on sailings. You will get an option like veranda, guaranteed with restrictions and that’s normally the biggest discount and then you will get other things like GTY certain category and above.

They have updated it then.

As it now has rooms in categories

Yes, these are exactly the sort of GTY rates I was talking about that have been available for years with specific categories mentioned.

These are not highly discounted verandah guaranteed rooms with restrictions. In fact, I don’t believe the Treasure has had a guaranteed room with restriction offered yet for any sailing.

Not GT rates but GTY which is fairly common to have the different categories which come with less discount and less restrictions

Guaranteed= GTY
Typically a slight to no discount but the possibility of a “free” upgrade to a better category like if you book a 7 GTY you could get a category 6 for the category 7 cost. It operates as a regular reservation so can be modified as one would a chosen room. This typically happens when a category gets close to sold out just to give DCL leverage for life boat capacities.

Guaranteed with Restrictions= GT
Typically a good to great discount BUT can not be adjusted in any way (can’t move dates, people, switch categories etc) basically you get what you get.


We almost always book GT rates as we typically book a month-ish out for the deals so are very familiar with them

DCL has allowed me to change my OGT booking to a VGT booking a couple times. Original booking was OGT because no VGT rate was available. When the VGT rate was released later on, I was allowed to pay the extra $$ and change the booking.

4. Are you happy with your assignment or do you feel like you got a "leftover?" yes, I would have loved the larger family veranda but I am thrilled to get connecting rooms
