I'd love to hear the experiences of anyone who booked a GTY category 9C on the Wonder. What room were you ultimately assigned? How far in advance of your sailing did you get your room assignment? And most important (to us), what was the porthole like in your assigned stateroom?

Here's a good thread to peruse.

Generally, GTY assignments are done about 60 days out, but, as with any guarantee reservation, the assignment can happen at any time from the day after making the reservation all the way up to, and including embarkation day.

Porthole size (if that's what you're asking about) is dependent on location of room onboard, not so much category.

Thanks for the response! With respect to portholes, I'm really wondering whether there is a significant risk that we get a room with two small portholes when booking a GTY 9C stateroom.

No chance of getting a room with 2 small portholes. Those are category 9D, deck 1.

9c is on deck 2, forward and aft. You can see pics of 9c porthole in my Alaska trip report.

Thank you so much!!! The website has contradictory information on it so I couldn't figure it out for myself. I even called in to ask this question but they couldn't give me an answer!

Sadly, you'll find the CM answering the phone doesn't have all the answers.

I recently booked a 9C GTY on the Magic for a sailing this March. Our stateroom was assigned about 55 days out and we got a midship 9B. As a PP said, 9C is one large porthole. You will not get two small portholes. With a GTY they have to assign you the category you booked or higher.
