Just got my GTY cabin assigned. No upgrade, boo hoo. Question: Now that the cabin has been assigned, can it still be changed by Disney?
when is your cruise? I am waiting for mine, we are sailing in June. The last time we did this, we recieved it about 55 days out and it never changed.Just got my GTY cabin assigned. No upgrade, boo hoo. Question: Now that the cabin has been assigned, can it still be changed by Disney?

Yes, it can be changed. Will it be? Usually not.Just got my GTY cabin assigned. No upgrade, boo hoo. Question: Now that the cabin has been assigned, can it still be changed by Disney?

Sure they can. My guess is they only do so under unusual circumstances (for example, obviously, if a room became uninhabitable). I know of no published statistics showing what they historically do, so no one but Disney knows, it just seems like there haven't been posts over the years about people who had their room changed, so based on that very unscientific feeling my guess is you can almost certainly depend on that to be your stateroom. Research it and get excited! Hope you like the location.
That's because you have a vgt rate, not a gty assignment. Usually you will not find out your cabin assignment until around 10 days before your cruise.we have a verandah guarantee for feb 19 on the dream and we still havnt received our room assignments yet

Thanks for the info. We decided to go ahead and pay extra to upgrade to a specific cabin (with a navigator's verandah). We were originally in an 11C and were hoping for an upgrade with the GTY (did not happen, we were assigned an 11C cabin). Based on what I am reading, it seems unlikely we would get upgraded to anyhting much better between now and the cruise.Yes, it can be changed. We had a room booked and selected months in advance of our last cruise and I noticed about 4 weeks before we went that the room number had changed. Wasn't thrilled about the new location (not an upgrade, just a lateral move) but it turned out to be fine. It actually ended up being closer to our friends than our original room. So even if you aren't GTY, you can still have the room changed. We also had our room booked and selected months in advance in 2010 and suddenly got upgraded to a 4A from a 5A. They can change your room for any reason at any time, no explanation.
