GTY assignment-do they notify you

sailing on december 11th with GTY status...will we get a phone call or email when we are assigned a room? or is there a different way to find out? we are 44 days out

When we booked a GTY cabin we were given a stateroom number (within that same category) about a month before we sailed when our cruise docs arrived. Then 2 weeks before we sailed DCL called & left a msg. on my cell phone to say we'd been upgraded 2 categories & they left a new cabin number & said to just cross out the old one on our luggage tags & write the new one in.
