GTA Travel Agents

Hi there,

To give you a little background, I just moved to the GTA from Niagara and have education/experience in hospitality. I now work as a Receptionist/HR Assistant at a Golf and Country Club.

But, my true passion is planning trips.

I'm looking to get into working at a travel agency, preferrably CAA.

If anyone on here is a travel agent, preferably one who deals with Disney packages... could you give me some pointers?

I know that I have the education to back this up... and I'm looking for a career change!

I work for Cruise Ship Centers here in Oakville and though we also sell all vacations, primarily we are a Cruise Agency. I do sell a lot of Disney vacations though

At CSC, basically you are totally commission and can work inside or outside the office. There's a 'start up' fee as basically you are self employed. To make a decent living at it, IMO, you'd have to work inside pretty much full time. For me, it was 'something to do' when my DD's left for University as I love to plan travel , Disney and Cruising, and my husband thought maybe I could plan for others and save him some $$$ That hasn't really happened yet!

I really love the 'art of finding the deal' and putting together great holidays for people!

Not sure that I have been any help to you, but that's what I do!
How this differs from regular agencies I am not too sure!
