Welcome to my first attempt at any kind of report--ever! I'll try to keep the exclamation points down to ten per page. I kind of get carried away with all things Disney. I wasn't born this way, but I developed Disneyitis in my mid-forties in response to losing quite a big chunk of my immediate family all at once.
Now don't feel bad. That was many years ago, and I'm fine now! (Oops, there goes my second one) I have a wonderful husband and kids who have filled the void. I guess now I'll introduce you to my wonderful cast of characters for this trip:
Me: DW46--Self-proclaimed Disneyholic who when she is not at Disney is dreaming about it, planning fake trips on the official website to see how much they would cost, and then cancelling right before she gets to the credit card part. My Disney alter-ego is TINK.
DH57: Born in Florida about an hour from the Mouse House and until he married me, didn't give two flips about Disneyworld. He tolerates it "for my sake", but I know that he loves the food, and he loves the shows, and he loves watching our daughter experience it all. But when were watching TV at home
and the commercials come on, I always say, "Let's talk about Disneyworld." He looks pained and jokingly says, "Oh please, I'd rather put my eyes out with a hot poker.......ha, ha, ha.
Usually, my DD8 and I will just start talking about it around him. His Disney alter-ego is GRUMPY!!
DD8: Been to the World twice at age 4 and last year at age 7, this next month will be her 3rd trip. She loves it as much as her Momma although she was very disheartened that she couldn't stay at her beloved POP this upcoming trip. Her Disney alter-ego has been ARIEL when she was little, was MULAN last year, and this year she's back to ARIEL.
Finally: DS20: He's on a mission for our church for two years and won't be home for this trip. He's excited for his Momma to be doing something that makes her happy though and will be there in spirit. We always send him postcards and stuff.
His Disney alter-ego is JACK SPARROW. He is such a handsome kid!
We are the HOWELL family and we are LOUD!! If someone is noisy in the room next to you, it was probably us. Not really, we are like a pot that bubbles over, but then one of us realizes that we aren't at home and need to QUIET DOWN!
So far, in our trips togethers we have only stayed at the "P" resorts: Polynesian in 2004, POP Century in 2006 and coming up in October 2007 at the Port Orleans Riverside. We've loved the other two. We're hoping to love POR also. As I mentioned earlier, my DD8 was devastated when she realized that I upgraded us to POR after the codes came out. I was able to explain to her that someday we would stay at the POP again, but wouldn't it be nice to stay at every resort at Disney at least once? She seemed to like that idea. Change is hard for some people. Kids too, I guess.
I've already mapped out our itinerary and gotten all our ADRs and DD8's trying BBB at the castle. She loved BBB at DD last year. We aren't doing MNSSHP this year, and she seems to be okay with that. That's all for now. Got important things to do........NOT!
