OK So here's what happened, had lovely day in Epcot....ME.. :tigger: DH :goofy:DS :stitch: , all good so far.....

Waited about 10 minutes, ressie was for 5:30 pm, got seated, was unable to obtain a tank table as I did request on our ressies, but all good anyway right???? OR SO I THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK so here's the start, waiter comes and we gave drink order and about 10 minutes later returns, ok, place appetizer order, I ordered the Lobster soup, was informed it was a bisque, said great love the bisque! DH ordered the Cesear salad dressing on the side.

So my soup arrives, waiter forgot his salad, as they do not write down what you order (this should only be done by those who can remember your order - just my opinion!)

DH gets salad a mixed green with Blue Cheese - omg DH hates dressings, and I can't repeat what he thinks of bleu cheese! So I asked waiter to correct he said ok!

Well, waiter forgot who we were, since my dinner came before everyone else, I ordered the Catfish which was terrific I must say !!!! :thumbsup2 DS got his a bit later and DH got his steak no salad evidently our waiter forgot(as he doesn't write anything down!) While hubby waited for his steak ds and I went for a stroll around the tanks as the Sea Turtle came out!!! Very cool! The divers came out too! ok so we see him its GRUMPY!!!!! OMG IT REALLY IS
SITTING AT OUR TABLE!!!!!!! :sad2:

The waiter brought out DHs and dinner and it was the Chicken not the steak he ordered OMG and there he was in all his glory GRUMPY!!! No salad no entree can you bleieve it well there is more......

He says no worries you and DS start eatting its getting cold, so I very slowly picked at my dinner which was great and had survivors guilt to enjoy too much!

SO steak arrives , very fatty and needless to say DH asked for med rare and it was well done!!! WE asked for more soda but he never would remember so I fugured what if we ask for water, maybe we will get lucky??? NOPE!!!

Thinking I am at the end??? Nope more to come, he never came back to check on hubby's meal or bring our soda or water! SO we flagged him down, thought maybe some dessert may bring back my goofy and chase ole grumpy away.....

I am shking my head sitting here as I type giggling at this adventure... ok so we ask for dessert cooffee and tea, DH orders the cheesecake and I go with the creme brulee. SO after 26 minutes GRumpy stared at his watch his coffe came, forgot my tea, desserts and I reminded him for fear grumpy would explode!!!! Got DH cheescake, which THANK GOD AND ALL THATS HOLY he loved it! Still no tea for me and gave me some other dessert, which when I asked he said no I never ordered the Brulee, see I had no cocktails and hes got no pad .....sure and where is my tea??????????These are thoughts I held inside! :confused3

SO its time to get out of Dodge , eveidently I did notice this waiter ignored the diners with the DDP, ironically if he moves them out quicker than he gets more cash customers right???? Nope, so I mention to him he might want to sue a pad and pen politely and softly and he informs me WHy would he... I have no idea right??

End of story ready the table behind us taps us on the shoulder and says here, I asked for our dessert to go but I think we got your husbands salad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

SO there's my story , would have been better if we had a server with a memory and would have loved the table by the tank!

:rotfl2:

You are such a good sport about it all, I would have been perturbed to say the least.

Funny story!

OPPS I forgot something , can you imagine??? DH asked for the roasted potatoes they came with the salmon instead of the au gratin, no shock he never got any potato of any kind!!!!!!

Did you ask for a manager? I can't/don't put up with that service anywhere...

We were in a rush as we waited so long for everything and could find anyone who appeared qualifed! I also did not want the meal to wreack our evening! Figured best to leave it alone and will contact them when I got home and share my thoughts with them!

Oh Gad, I hope I don't get him Next Friday, I am going there for Lunch, did you get his name? :sad2:

We had horrible service at Coral Reef in January, but nothing like what you experienced! As I was ready your review, I was wondering if you got stuck with the same server as we did...

I did the same thing at another restaurant that I had bad service at. I figured I'd save the situation (or at least try to :lmao: ) rather than get all upset and talk to someone about it. I definitely grabbed someone at the end though.

I would have left a "tip" on the receipt: "start writing down your orders buddy, maybe next time you'll get a monetary tip!" :rotfl:

I'd also like his name- we're going in September!!! :scared:

There is one great waiter there- we have had him 3 times*can't remember his name right now....sorry. But he is fantastic and remembers us when we get him!*he probably says that to everyone...but he remembered where we were from so it worked for a tip upgrade!!
I am so sorry you had such awful service. You have a great attitude. You had Grumpy at the table and Dopey for a waiter.

Im sorry you had such a bad experience, the only bad thing I could say is it took forever for my key lime martini to come out i thought he forgot it, but other than that our food came out so fast I was so full from the soup I hardly ate my entree

That's a pretty sorry server, for certain.
And you're right about that suggestion--if you can't remember what folks order, BETTER write it down!!!!

This addresses my recent post "Doesn't anyone send back subpar food?" I am just shocked by what people will tolerate. It seems that when someone is on the DDP they don't consider it as if they are really paying for the meals? And the server got an 18% tip to boot! I'm certainly not judging your easy going personality(I agree that arguing and complaining can be very stressful and puts a damper on you evening and vacation in general), but its just not right that Disney seems to be taking advantage of a captive dining audience with bad food and worse service! I am going during the free DDP and I fear what it is going to be like then.....although I don't really consider it "free". It is the sole reason I chose to stay on Disney property, and my accomodations for the week are costing me over $400 more than a MUCH BETTER room AND rental minivan would have cost me offsite. I am Disney's target audience for this promotion!

Was your waiter's name Luis? This was our exact same experience in DEC. After waiting 20 minutes for the dessert menu, my husband went to find the manager. She comped our entire meal for 6. I have never had an experience quite like it. Loved the food, and we had a table near the tank. Our service was so bad that I got the giggles. It became hilarious! We felt like we were on candid camera.

The OP's story was amazing and gets my vote as most patient!. We just returned from our 2 week trip to WDW and ate at Coral Reef twice. The first time it was just the 2 of us. We had a table next to the tank and had excellent service. My glass never went empty. The second week we took some family and the service was not so great. The guy kept getting confused, and forgetful, but we always got the correct food (he did use a pad to write notes on). The got really confused when we wanted to use our TS credits to pay for the other adults meals. He wanted to argue with us that paying for other people's meals with our extra TS credits was not allowed. The only way he finally let us do it, was by swiping both my card and my husbands card since each of our cards said 2A (2 adults). Then we paid for the extras and the kids meals OOP using our DDE discounts. He got the billing correct but complained the whole time about how much extra work it was and got his nose all bent out of shape. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant dining experience and rather embarrassing as he made us feel like we were doing something wrong. It's not like the credits were free, we did pay for them, and if we wanted to give them away, that should've been our right.

That was his name too funny, wish I had perused the manager issue. I did attempt to locate a manager and expalin what was happening . THe lobby was packed and all she did wsa redirect him to where our table was as maybe he was lost! Great help! Thank you for your story, vacation dining should not be a place for me to do battle. Thats my job when I am not on vacation. I wanted to keep the tone upbeat as getting my DH to Disney was an adventure in itself. Thankfully he loved our resort and most of the dining picks. He has said he did love the cheesecake! Thank GOd for the cheesecake!

Write a quick note to the restaurant manager and tell him/her what happened. I would want to know if any of my employees were like this.

Another DISer I know wrote a letter about WCC and just as a "Wanted to imform you" type of thing and got Disney Dollars in the mail.

I would want to know...
