Grumpy and Americana Mickey MagicBands now available

I asked this in another thread but did not get an answer. Can you buy the character bands in the resort gift shops or do you have to wait until you are in a park?

When we were there a couple of weeks ago, the only place we saw the a large selection of character Magic Bands were at certain locations in the parks and DTD. I think there are a few other places, but I don't remember seeing many, if any. character magic bands in the resorts.

No Americana mickey at HS. I asked and then appears that never got it here.

I have an update on these. I have a friend at WDW now, and she checked the Main Street Emporium for the Americana Magic Band because I really wanted one. She didn't see one and had the guy check the computer for stock and he said they were completely out of them.

HOWEVER…when she returned to her hotel, she decided on a whim to check the gift shop and they had over 20 of the Americana Mickey bands. So, they are available at certain resorts. Not sure which one she is staying at however.

I have seen the special MBs, not necessarily these new ones though, at the Poly and POR gift shops. At least that's what I saw last July and last March. I think DTD has a better selection though.
