I'm curious why you'd want to change. I would assume that family will give two gifts.

I would rather give gifts to new people, make new connections. I give my daughter and mother-in-law gifts already lol Plus we are working on gifts together so two cabins would be giving similar (not exactly the same) gifts within the same group.

I think Pkltm is part of the family that is in two cabins with the same last name, so maybe doesn't want to gift the other half of the family.

Plus they would see what we are bringing as my daughter and I live in the same house.

I misunderstood the post. I thought it was another family split between two rooms rather than your family. It makes total sense.
