I have HRH - Club Level - booked and paid in full for August (2700.00)

Universal has that stay 5 get one night free special or whatever it is - but you can't use it on club level rooms..

THe Pool View Room at HRH for my dates is 1600.00

That is an 1100.00USD difference or about 1.23Billion Canadian $'s (lol)

Now I don't know what to do - I love concierge services, exclusive floor, lounge, breakfasts & drinks so convenient... but am I really that shallow to pay 1100.00USD for it??

Help! What would you do?

How many nights are you staying and what is your rate? Sounds pretty steep to me. We just came back from HRH and had a pool view deluxe room for $160/night. You can order room service breakfast for about $10/person. I think you are getting ripped off.

Hi - it is for August 16th - 6 nights - including park passes and 3 lunch/dinner combos

the 2700.00 rate is the total for club level

the 1600.00 rate is the total for pool view

I don't think I could justify that big of a difference. $1100?!?! I'm sure you could save that money and use it for something better. I'd pay more for the Club level, but not that much!

Have you tried www.hotelkingdom.com

They have a special right now, buy 3 nights, get the 4th night free. The price for a club level room is $279 a night. For 6 nights it would only be $1395 plus tax.

You could get the 5 day passes online for $89 adult/$79 child for the 2 of you.

You wouldn't get the lunch/dinner coupons but for the price difference you could purchase a lot of meals :).

Good luck!

taylor1293 broke it down like a pro...

It's personal preference but I couldn't justify the little bit of extra tidbits that they offer at club level for that amount of money.

You would be saving more than I'm spending for accommodations on my 9 day vacation! :earseek:

Another option is to use the fan club card. There are posts on this board about getting one for free if you don't have one. We're booked into the club level at the end of August with a rate of $230 per night. You can get the two park power pass for about $100 each and you'd have to spring for the dinners yourself, but it's still a lot less than $2700.

I agree with the others. Last year I had 5 nights at the HRH, pool view, airfare, and tickets for a family of four for about $2,000. I would pay no more than $50-75 a night extra for the club level.

Cassie,

That seems way too high. We paid $194.00 p/n club level in December 4 nights and APS for 2 adults 2 kids, and I'm sure we didn't pay over 1500.00. You need to reprice this.

You know, you are all right - it is a lot of money - in fact - one week at Disney's Beach Club Concierge Lagoon View is costing 2600.00 (with new FTP) compared to 6 nights at HRH Club at 2700.00.

Mind you - the 2700.00 does include 3 lunches and 3 dinners for each of us.

Grrrr...

I am leaving it as is for now - this whole florida trip was a Christmas Gift! So any refund does not come to me - it goes to the gift giver - and they don't care what I have booked or how much it costs - it's just me feeling guilty about it! lol

There is still 3 months to go - maybe the price will go down for club. I don't want to start messing with the package now - it is all paid in full.

If anyone sees any specials for Club Level - please let me know.

I also booked on HotelKingdom.com, stay 3 nights, get the 4th free. We are also staying at Club level. It came out to about 900.00 or so for the 4 nights. I woud definetley take another look at your reservations, especially for 1100.00, you can buy a lot with that!

Hi..

I called hotelkingdom.com and they are quoting a total of 1539.50 including tax for the club level for my dates... wow

Then - the park passes are 176 adult and 143 child.. that makes a total of 1857.00 - except no lunch/dinner for 3 days.

The other thing is that you only play the one night and a deposit ahead of time and the rest is paid locally - like I said - this is a gift and already paid - I really don't want to screw around with it.

Also I am not sure what the cancellation penalties are on the package that is booked...

Is this hotel kingdom.com company okay? I would freak if I arrived and the club level was not reserved properly or they could not "find" my reservation.

Any thoughts on this?

Hotel Kingdom is great. I've used them numerous times and most recently for my trip to the RPR last month.

They have a liberal cancellation policy, also, which is important to me. You can book with them with confidence.

If you booked your package through Universal Studios Vacations, the following fees apply for cancellations of vacation reservations:

Days prior to departure:

45 days or more: $25 fee per person plus fees imposed by other suppliers

4-44 days prior: $50 per person plus fees imposed by hotel, airline and/or other suppliers

0-3 days prior: No refund, 100% penalty

If I was the gift giver in this case, I would be thrilled to rebook this at the lower price! Can't you talk to them about it? They could rebook it and give you spending money and STILL come out ahead!

Grrrrr again...

I called Univeral to check on cancelling our package... which by the way was paid in full by cheque a few months ago.

The only penalty is $25.00 per person - but you have to allow 4 - 6 weeks for your refund to come through. (cheque)

I know it's almost a $900.00 difference in price.. but the hassle of cancelling, rebooking and having to pay everything at the hotel (except the deposit) is too much trouble for me

I am leaving it as is.... maybe they will appreciate that we are paying "full rate" for everything and upgrade us to the presidential suite (kidding!)

Thanx for everyone's imput - next time I book I will go through HotelKingdom.com - what a difference in price for the same thing.

Does your gift giver need any "new" relatives?

Just kidding! I noticed we just stayed at the resorts you have stayed in. We were at RPR and AKL. We loved them both. I don't know what's up with my time counter. We are already home.

New Friends - no way - I won't let him meet anyone new!!! He''s all mine...

Not only this Hardrock part - but 10 nights in Disney and flights :p

What a guy!

=========

As for your counter - once you departed it says the fun ans sun thing - you have to go into your profile to delete it - and maybe add a new one??
