We made a trip to Cedar Point this past weekend, and for me it was primarily to ride the Top Thrill Dragster.

But it wasn't running. They weren't even sending empty cars so I could simply see how fast it was. :(

Does anyone know why it's down THIS time???

It was a bummer, thats for sure. They had guys up on the catwaks a few times up near the top, so we were thinking it had something to do with the tracks up higher.

Guess we'll have to plan another trip, maybe next year. Hopefully then the lines won't be 4 hours long.

Ugh, I can't believe that I was prepared to wait 4 hours for a 17 second ride.

Sorry you didn't get to ride this time. The ride has been down for over a week now. Apparently the Top Thrill Dragster ride at Cedar Point is a prototype and parts are hard to come by.

Imagine how disappointed the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) were. Their convention was this past weekend at Cedar Point.

Unfortunately that's a problem with a new coaster. Remember Test Track? When I went to WDW it was closed at least twice a day when it first opened.

I saw a bunch of people running around with buttons for this group. I woulda been a little miffed if I were the people that held their convention there. Ah well though, whaddya gonna do?

I feel for you... it took me several trips and many years before I got on Magnum XL... by then the ride was about 6 or so years old  It was always broken down when I went there three summers in a row. I thought I was lucky to get on the Mantis the first summer it opened :p

We did get to ride it on June 1st, but it was up and down the entire weekend. It truely is an incredible experience, but over so quick! We kind of had a sensation of "Did I just dream that?" Lines were about 2 hours long, but we did the parent swap, so I didn't have to wait at all and my hubby got to ride twice in a row. We'll be back for Halloweekends, so I hope they have the kinks worked out by then.

Wicked Twister had all sorts of problems in its first season last year. TTD is in its growing pains.

Im sorry to hear that it wasn't running for you.. I guess we just got really lucky over Memorial Day weekend.

In fact, we were privy to info due to where we were standing in line. When we got there Saturday morning (EARLY!), the Ttd sign was up.. meaning that it MAY be open later.

We were waiting in the guest services line... and heard the phone ring about 5 minutes before park opening..

What we heard of the conversation "Guest Services"

"Thats right."

"Dragster open, Force not Open and Magnum open" (this was for early entry".

(Ok, then we went into happiness! Most of the crowds in line still knew it to be down, not up.. the sign didn't change yet... "

So the few hundred people didn't go to Dragster... went to Magnum and Force...

We got really lucky!
