Come on state of Nevada. Save them from themselves. Make them throw these back into room prices so we can compare quicker.

We all know it's just so they can market a lower room price point and make it harder for us to truly compare. We all know when the pool is closed and the work out room with two things in it is closed and the wifi is lousy, it didn't cost them $40 a room per night.

When even Circus Circus has a resort fee, it has probably gone too far.
When Arizona Charley has a resort fee, there is no doubt about it.

^^ I agree, adding bogus 'fees' to the price of a room is just an attempt to obscure the true TOTAL cost. MGM & Caesar's now also charge ~$20/day for parking that used to be free. While you may get a 'comp' room, you will still have to pay roughly $60/day for these added fees. Personally, I find less reason to go to Vegas now that there are casinos in so many others parts of the USA. Apparently, Vegas is still able to fill their hotels, so they can get away with adding these extra 'fees'.

I stay at the desert rose behind the Tropicana and last I looked they do not charge resort fees. and it so nice there. they have one and two bedrooms and a bed in the living room. full kitchen and bbqs. take a look it is so quiet. they have a pool, jacuzzi, and a baby pool. even laundry rooms. And it so close to the airport and yet walk to the end of the strip near nyny, and all those near by or even catch the bus.

51? Ouch. Supposedly it was going up to $45 from 39? And in August it's going to be $51.

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!.

Reminds me of buffets on holidays.

    Grrrrrr MGM doing it again.
Vdara, Bellagio, and Aria up $6 to $45 which makes them even with Wynn, Encore, Palazzo, and Venetion.

Yep, they already are. I just did a one night stay at Flamingo (went to a film festival). Room was $37, resort fee was $45. They said is was to cover amenities: WiFi, fitness center, free local calls(?), notary service(?), morning newspaper and boarding pass printing. How many people have their boarding pass printed at the hotel anymore? How many people use the room land line to make local calls? I wonder what the percentage of hotel guests using the fitness center is. 10? 25?

Saying it's for a pool that's closed in the winter, an exercise room, internet and phone (which nobody uses) insults my intelligence. That doesn't cost them $45 a guest. And if it does the pool boy is way over paid. Oh and don't get me started about these Franchise and concession fees popping up at Restaurants. GRRRRRRR!!!

    That's already the case.

Our room rate for Excalibur when we went in June was $19 for 2 of our nights (MLife discount but the rates still would have been cheap for 2 of our nights). Resort fee was $39 or something like that.
