OK, now, when did Disney become a 'for females only' sort of thing.

Think of all the great adventurers and swashbucklers pirate: . Peter Pan, Cpn Hook, Woody, Buzz, The Jungle book characters, Tarzan. and on and on. So, why is there one piddly crappy little Buzz/Woody set (not even poseable action figures) and NO Peter Pan action sets for my ds3? Fortunately, I picked up a Jungle book Lego set and a Peter Pan lego set when our Disney Store closed this summer. But why can I find millions of little princess: figures for dd8 and NOTHING of play value for DS3? And the Peter Pan costume they have is CRAP compared to the one I found in another catalog. GRRRRRR!!!!!
And the Pirate ship, which DH and I considered, is too expensive and not really playable with, especially when you look at Playmobil stuff. For heavens sake, we have a wonderful Playschool pirate ship we bought at a yard sale (DS walked up to it, said, "It's MINE!" and was completly right!) for $3. It came with the Treasure Island pirates from McDonalds.

But the point is, why do I have to look so hard to find him something cool? They don't even have a little boy room decor kit (comforter, border, lamp, etc). DS doesn't want to play princesses all the time, but DD is MORE than willing to play Peter Pan.

Sorry, and I know no one cares, but really. And why is there no Adventurer's breakfast? The Pirate Cruise, which we will do is wonderful, but Disney is (forgive the pun) missing the boat! :boat: Disney will go bankrupt simply because they are ignoring 50% of the population!!!

So funny I should read your post today! I was at the Disney Store earlier and was surprised by the huge amount of Toy Story toys they had! Tons of Buzz stuff....almost a whole wall!

I have noticed the DS has tons of Princess stuff (it's probably what sells best) so the Toy Story stuff really jumped out at me.

I also noticed alot of Rolie Polie Olie stuff. I don't know exactly what you are looking for, but my DS seems like it's stocked up on boy toys right now.

Didn't really notice the costumers except for the Mickey and Tigger ones...very cute I thought!

Personally I wish they would put more ADULT stuff back in the stores, especially the clothes they used to carry.

I totally agree with you. I wish they would have a boys type breakfast at WDW, they have several girl ones. It could be Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Peter Pan, others that both girls and boys would like. Some times we would like something other than Pooh and Mickey.

The DS has some new toys out, Capt. Hook and the like. We got some of those and ds got a Peter Pan set when he were at WDW.

Maybe next time we go (we just got back so we have to wait a year!) they will have something more geared to boys.

I was lucky that DS was still fairly young when Toy Story came out, and we racked up then. About 6-7 he grw out of Disney:( Now DD is 8 almost 9 and we are going strong. I wish Disney would do more adventure and villians stuff. Ds would be in hog heaven.

My oldest ds (6) would go nutso over adventurers stuff and even more so for the villains. Boys really do get shortchanged compared to all the princess stuff. It's surprising, too. You'd think Disney would realize we spend money for toys and clothing for boys as well!

What about Stitch? There's tons of Stitch related stuff out there now. And the DS used to have all these action toys of Peter Pan and Hook, Hercules, etc. I haven't really looked for boy stuff lately, since DD13 (tomboy) has outgrown most of the toy stuff (but she looooves Stitch!) and my DD10 is a princess-lover.

There were tons of boy stuff at Once Upon a Toy last month - trains, dinosaurs, action figures, etc.

As the Mom of 2 boys...I hear ya loud and clear and I'm right there with you! My 4 yo DS has stood in the Disney Store and said "why is all princesses? why don't they have stuff for me" :(

Have you seen the petition for boy character meals on the restaurant board? If not...go find it and sign it!

We have Toy Story stuff. My kids could care less about Power Rangers and they see Stitch as more girl stuff b/c of Lilo. They ADORE Peter Pan, both want to be Peter Pan for MNSSHP and I agree the costume is not up to par with the other costumes. My kids would LOVE to see Peter Pan toys, Aladdin toys or stuff from "Jungle Boy" (Jungle Book).

i agree...

I agree...

I AGREE!!!!!!!!!

Um, yep - can't agree more about the lack
of toys for little boys!

Make sure you sign the petition,
you never know when Michael will listen!

I agree totally and the situation over here in the UK is even worse!

My DS loves Disney stuff, but prefers stuff like Nemo, Little Mermaid, Dalmations etc and really doesn't like Power Rangers (in fact he isn't allowed to watch that) and the more villians/hero side of things, as he doesn't like any kind of fighting even Disney fighting. So I am really stuck to buy him things. When he was younger he had all the Winnie the Pooh toys etc and he now has almost everything you can buy in the Nemo range over here.

Clothes are the worse, the Disney Stores here have 4 walls of girls clothing and 1/4 of a wall of boys clothes! They need to start producing more gender specific toys/items of their popular characters like Mermaid, Dalmations etc. DS loves animals so Peter Pan and Toy Story stuff just isn't for him!

Our disney store closed over the summer. That's the only place I found some PP and Jungle book toys. They're saved for birthday or Xmas. The online DS has very little.

On my way!!! :D

I got a great one, very heavy felt, typical hat, and, the BEST for DS, Peter's belt and knife (wood handle, rubber blade, suede sheath with fringe). It was expensive, but well worth it, IMHO. Now he whirls like a little tornado as Peter Pan!! DD7 is Wendy and Tinkerbell so they're both happy! I could look for the catalog name/website address if you're interested. The costume was an exclusive for them.

I was browsing Disney Deals today and they have a bunch of the now discontinued Adventurers line of toys really cheap. Like $2-$5 each. Moms of boys, hop on over there and check it out!

I'm in the agreement boat! My boys 7 & 5 are too old for Pooh (the only alternative to princesses) and I've got about all the Buzz stuff I can handle.

On the flip side......what about girls who don't like princess stuff? Hm????

Ok, off to check that site for the Adventure toys!

I have a good friend whose daughter is like that! She's about the only 4 year old I've ever met who can not stand princess stuff. She's a Mickey girl all the way! She actually seems offended if you offer her something princess related. :p

Yes, PLEASE! Post it or PM me with it! We've watched Peter Pan at least 3 times since Friday night (family night...they pick a movie and we all watch it). I suggested that my 2 year old be Captain Hook but my 4 year old (who refuses to take off his Peter Pan shirt that says "the good guys always win") won't hear of it. He doesn't want his brother to be a bad guy! The only other option he will consider is if he is John, 2 year old brother is Michael and I am Wendy. :p

Ditto - my 4yr old DS loves Buzz but the 8 year old DS has outgrown it. There's nothing for him. I think some more villians would be cool. We went to the Pennsylvania Renaissance faire today - totoally cool - esp. for boys.

search for Peter Pan. The booties do not come with it. I got an 8 because he wants to wear it to CRT next year when sister goes as Aurora. It is quite large, but not tootoo big. He is just in Gymboree size 5, if that helps. My kids tend to repeat Halloween costumes too, and this is great for dress up. I figures we'll cut the sleeves off if it's too hot, and he can just wear shorts under it.

BTW, Connor will let Maura be Captain Hook pirate: , and he sometimes will play both parts. We have an enormous black standard poodle who lives to play the crocodile! They get up on Connor's loft bed (about 3.5' off the ground) and yell TickTockTickTock and the poodle (Tipper) comes! Then they 'swordfight'.

My friend's 5 year old isn't in to the princess stuff-more Lion King/Pluto/Marie. It's very hard to find her Disney stuff.

When I was at my TDS this week they had Peter Pan/Hook figures on sale for $5.99(?) and larger sets for $12.99. The $12.99 had a 2nd figure and more accessories. I think Peter Pan also had a bear and Hook had the crocodile.

newtowdw-too funny about Tipper. We are going to MNSSHP and I am going to make my DS a Peter Pan costume-should be easy out of a nice felt and so much nicer than TDS one. I may buy him the sword at TDS on sale now. DSister will make my 21 month old a Tinkerbell (can't stand the sleeves on TDS one) and I'm hoping sis will help me make DD(5) a nightgown to be Wendy. At home DD(5) wants to be Sleeping Beauty at home.

This is THE reason it has taken me years to convince DH to give Disney a try. All he sees is a paradise for little girls.

I got a set when our TDS went out of business.

DD(7) is Sleeping Beauty this year. Bit the bullet and went for the expensive one at Lilian Vernon. :earseek: But she'll wear it to CRT next year. She told me she was glad we aren't 'theming' this year. I'm a little sad, as we've themed every other year! Maybe I'll dress up Tipper as the crocodile and take her....And DH would love to be Captain Hook. hmmmm:scratchin

I think I'm going to get DH a Captain Hook hat and I think I'll be a pirate or Mr Smee. I guess I better enjoy the theeming this year while she still thinks its cool as we never done it. She'll really think its cool if Mom & Dad dress up too.

I'll take her Sleeping Beauty for SBB at Epcot and Cinderella for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I haven't that before either and am hoping to get at least 1 last trip while she still believes that Cinderella and all the other characters are real. I don't think that will last long when she starts school this week. But she's such a princess I think she'll enjoy the dressing up after she learns the truth....
