GRRR! why do people quit right in the middle og a game?!?!?

Many times when this happens I know for a fact they quit because I see them in the lobby. You can't disconnect and log back in that fast. This is what happens the vast mahority of the time.

But you can be booted by the computer if your processor is tied up or not able to catch up when switching levels. I get sent back to the lobby ALOT it's not technically a crash but I don't get to finish the game. I feel bad for anyone playing with me but there is nothing I can do about it. Except maybe buy a new computer.

I know its frustrating when people leave the game but it's not always on purpose.

I don't really understand leaving because someone's not winning. We get credits whether we win or lose, but none if we leave the game, so it makes a lot more sense to stay. It's not even like we get the orange crates now, so why the fuss about winning every game? :confused3
::yes::
Players Quitting on me:
I have had players quit on me. Yes, actually I know of a player I refuse to play against because he is a "habitual" quitter if he does not take the lead immediately in a game. I wont leave, I will continue to get as many ghosts as I can until the round ends, which will end the game but I still get my credits. It is a shame, its all about the credits not about who wins or loses.
Of course we know that at some time or another everyone has crashed in Mansion, and it's just as frustrating to the people who crashed as it is to those left behind (I work darn hard for credits, and to lose them because of a crash really makes me :headache: ) What I think we can all agree on is those who obviously are leaving because they are not winning are the annoying ones, and it's hard to understand their logic. You get WAY more credits from just playing the game then you do from winning. I like playing people who are better than me, because it pushes me to play better and I usually end up with more credits at the end of those games. That being said, I'm happy to meet up and play with DISers who want the same thing - to earn buku credits, not necessarily to win.

I guess it can be frustrating to those who crash in the game a lot, and obviously some have been accused of quitting when they couldn't help it.

Of course its frustrating when your trying to get credits and you cant because people keep quitting.

And of course like Dis pointed out, there are those who set up games to be 1 against 4 (not in friendly) just to get a credit advantage.

It's important to remember when there is frustration that we should all excercise extra caution in regards to others feelings. This is a topic that both sides of the issue are frustrated over, so its easy to do.

I know the quitters are out there, and I agree that its puzzling since the only difference between winning and losing is 40 credits. The credits still pay out. Unless they feel this is how to get onto the top 10 list.

Unfortunately most of the people who this thread is really targeted at would never get to see it.

I sometimes can tell when a player is ready to quit on me vs. crashing, but nowadays I tend to give the benefit of the doubt because people are crashing a lot more. I crash sometimes, and I feel badly when I've stranded a player 1-on-1.

That being said, it is frustrating when you suspect a player just quits because they are a sore loser. If I suspect a player quit on me, I won't join a game against them in the future.

I crash sometimes, and sometimes I do myself in on accident somehow. I get "click" happy, and somehow click something else on my desktop and IE shuts down. I don't really know how it happens, but it drives me crazy because I love playing HM and I love the credits, win or lose. I would never intentionally leave a game. In fact, I actually lose a lot more than I win (I only got two orange crates LOL), but I think the credits for losing are still great.

(And maybe winning is overrated--I recently played against a guy and I was having a GREAT game, and he was a pretty sore loser. While he was ahead, he would post things like "yay" and "I'm ahead" but when I started winning he got bent out of shape and said he hated me...it was kind of rotten-feeling, to be honest!)

I guess I'm just posting to say that I hope not everyone quits playing with "strangers" because I only have a grand total of two people on my friends list, so I wouldn't get to play if everyone only played with "friends"...

If you see me sign up for HM, know that I will do my very best to stay and play!!

Wow, what's with the rude people in mansion today? I was playing against a guy earlier, and my first indication that it wasn't going to be a pleasant game was when I said "gl" and his response was "just play the game." And it went downhill from there. During the second round he said "gl, you'll need it," and bragged about how he won every game he played, from which I deduced that he must be one of those people who leaves when they're not winning (he was a decent player, but not spectacular). Rather than have to struggle through the end of the game all by myself, I just let him win. It was easier, and I got more credits out of that game than I would have if he had quit.

Worst game of mansion I've ever played. :sad2:

I do often crash in the middle of a Mansion game. But what makes me  in the Haunted Mansion games is when you join purple to be the fourth person in the game, and then the game creator boots the person on his/her team so that he or she will have the advantage credit-wise. In situations like that, I will leave. That is just incredibly selfish. Now, if you're playing friendly Mansion with others and you rotate people who get the major ghosts, that's fine. But when you're playing with random people, play fair for Yavn's sake!

The only time I boot ppl is when there are more than one on each side. I tell the people that I am sorry, but it is an auto crash for me and everyone else.
