I just received a feedback from a person I sold an item to about 3 weeks ago. She left me a positive feedback, but her comment said "item not great but fast seller ok". She did not email me to let me know that she was unhappy with the item. I feel that I described the item perfectly and because it was a vintage item, I was accurate on it's condition. It was a $5 item and she was the winning bid among several bidders.

I just sent her an email asking her if this item was not what she expected and why she didn't email me first before slamming me with a "positive negative". I haven't heard back from her.

My question is, do I post a follow up to her feedback and what do I say? Have any of you had "positive negatives" before? This is my first unfavorable feedback out of 127 total feedbacks. I am not very happy!:(

And I should add that the Post Office sent out her package first class when she had paid for Priority. I didn't realize it until I got home and was looking over my receipt (I sent out alot of packages that day). I immediately sent her a partial refund via paypal before she ever received the package. I had left her a little note on paypal explaining what had happened and the reason for the refund. Do you think I got an acknowledgment or a thank you for being honest??? Heck no!!! What is wrong with these people??

If she left the actual submission as a positive so it doesn't count as a negative, I would just not worry about it. Its the idiots that leave a negative without ever contacting you that irritate me!!!

This has been the week. For the first time, I've gotten two positives that really weren't One guy bid almost twice my starting price (he was actually a second chance bidder) and felt it was too much for what he got, and another gal had a shipping problem (metal pin somehow (I don't understand it) poked through the front she said..after she said the item was nice LOL. So I guess this is the week LOL

Unfortunately...this kinda stuff happens alllll the time on Ebay. We've been selling for several years now, and ya learn to just suck it up and move on. Don't let it bother you...you'll come across people like that from time to time. They aren't worth wasting your time worrying about them. As long as she left a "positive" and it doesn't affect your feedback rating, forget about her ;)

We'll be hitting 3000 feedback shortly with only 2 negs (one non payer, one person to happy I charged sales tax), so while I don't worry about it..I just wonder what they are thinking.

I also would not worry about it. As long as it is a positive rating it won't affect your feedback.

Every so often when a situation occurs that's similar to yours, and I ask myself "what the heck were they thinking when they <fill in the blank>"; I just spend a few moments thinking about it, and I don't let it bother me, I just smile and I just move on.....Also it's a postive not a neg, so who cares what they wrote...you can't please everyone.

Have you already left feedback for her? If not, I would leave a neutral along the lines of"Complained in feedback, never emailed me."

Although the "don't let it bother you" folks are definitely right, I think I'd still consider a neutral feedback.

I had two neutrals left for me recently and neither of the buyers contacted me first. Ticks me off!!!!

One of the auctions for was for a $5.00 new sealed set of desk calendars. The woman left a neutral saying they were shipped fast, but damaged, which makes it looks like I purposely sent a damaged item to her. I followed up to hers questioning why she leaves neutral feedback without contacting seller. I also left a follow up on her positive I left her stating "watch out sellers, she leaves neutral without contacting seller first."

She emailed me shortly after and apologized and said she was new and didn't know she could contact me and that one of the calendars was defective since the it got separated from it's cardboard box thing (it was a boxed calendar).

New people should have to pass a test before buying things on ebay
