Groupon to Travel Abroad?

Just wondering if anyone has used Groupon to travel to Europe. I keep seeing some really good deals including airfare, hotel and even some meals but have no experience with Groupon at all so it makes me nervous to buy. We are thinking of going to London and Rome or Edinburgh next summer so won't be purchasing right away just trying to get a budget together.

I haven't done it, but someone I know went to Ireland a year or so ago on a Groupon promotion. They had no complaints.

see if you can find the name of the travel company that is running the deal and google them for yelp reviews etc. I was looking at ones for all-inclusive trips and after reading the reviews I can see why it was so cheap...sounded like a nightmare!

A friend of mine used a Living Social Deal to go to Vienna and Prague and they had no issues at all with their travel or their hotels and they are fairly picky travelers.

I talked to someone who went on a Groupon trip deal in the past year. For them, it wasn't particularly pleasant - part of it involved an 8 hour bus ride - with no bathroom on board and no stops!! It also included at least 2 flights. So getting there and back was a bit of a nightmare. Unfortunately, I don't remember the location. I think it was somewhere in Eastern Europe, but not anything you would have imagined such an awful journey for.

Thanks for the answers. I am already so nervous about the thought of traveling so far so I want to make sure that everything is safe that I think I would rather wait a little longer and book something I feel comfortable with!
