And there's quite a few deals, at least here in Orlando that they do all the time. You don't have to wait specifically for it.

There are some great NYC deals too, for museum discounts, half off to some shows, and of course restaurants. People knowing they are going to be vacationing here, should check out the deals, make sure the expiration dates are after their trip here, and get in on some deals.

Right now I have a groupon for a hotel in Miami and then a snorkle trip for dd and I in the Keys. If wishes would come true I would get a half price hotel in the Keys....LOL. I only live an hour away, but would be a nice weekend trip for us. A night in Miami and then head down for a night in the Keys with a snorkle trip. Wonder if they take suggestions?

Here are two New York City Groupons deals for TODAY only if you will be coming to NYC in the next few months. Offers expire midnight tonight Eastern Daylight Time. (Although I do not see the countdown clock on the pages.) You must buy them today and then you have until the expiration date stated below to use them.

Read the whole Groupon deal carefully, and also check out the businesses' webpages, (listed toward the right,) for business hours, restrictions, menus, details specific to the business that you would need to know, even if you did not do the Groupon and went.

I love coupons, but being over 50, I just don't get Groupon.
I guess my issue is, the Groupon "deals" are more than I expect to pay at full price.
Case in point, some co-workers were overjoyed at the all the alcohol you can drink deal for 4.....for $200!!! I can't imagine drinking $50 worth of booze in one sitting.

Well - I've gotten several good deals that I think even an "old" person could appreciate. There was a $15 Ebay certificate for $7 the other day. I haven't spent my EBAY bucks yet but I'm sure there'll be something we need eventually.

$6 Movie tickets. We actually got to go to a movie after dark and not the afternoon matinee!!!!!!

Scan Digital runs a Groupon it seems like about once a quarter. I've been charged with getting most of my family's old pictures digitized and it is more than worth it to me to buy those and let somebody else do the scanning work.

I guess it depends on the deal. That one doesn't appeal to me - but the $20 for services at the Aveda Institute did, and the $10 for $20 Amazon credit on Living Social, and a similar Groupon/Barnes & Noble deal, and magazines I read from Weforia, and a $50 gift certificate from a site at which I shop from Eversave... all valuable to me

I've used Groupon and Living Social lots of times and have gotten some great deals. I even sign up for cities we will be vacationing in and have gotten some great restaurant deals.

Now I will have to sign up for those other places mentioned!

If you purchase a Groupon just for the "deal" and it isn't a deal for you, then of course it's not worth it.

I have a $20 Barnes & Noble card and $20 Amazon gift card. Each cost me ten dollars. I have an $8.00 coupon for Ben & Jerry's that cost me $4.00. And so on. Those are deals I will use.

I skipped the salon services for $75.00 because I don't shop around for hair cuts - I use the same salon. To me that's not a deal, even though it's a 50% off savings from normal costs.

There's no way a Groupon or Living Social is more than anyone would pay full price - the whole point is that it must be at least 50% off full retail.

It always interesting that people who make assumptions about things tend to have extreme examples they use to base their assumptions on. It's obvious you haven't even read this thread either, as NONE of the examples given are anything like drinking $200 worth of booze for 4 people.

I joined Groupon but have yet to see 1 coupon that I'm interested in. I'm thinking of unsubscribing. Maybe it works better for people who live in way more populated areas than I do.

I'm over 50 and have bought a lot of groupons. Mostly restaurants and since we are fairly new to the area, it is a great way to try things out.
Also to tourist attractions, again great way to try things out.

I haven't tried the other sites but will.
I would love to find the Amazon one.

Before we moved, we lived in a more rural area, and nothing ever came up that was close to us, so it does depend on where you live.

I don't know about other cities, but there are great $1 deals on Chicago Groupon today!

Just sent my kid and mother out for $1 boat tours, but just missed $1 for $10 lunches at one of our favorite places. The catch is that they must be used today.
