Group Rate or Visa Rate AND Changing Reservations

We are going to DW in February for a dance performance. The group rate hotel is the Pop, and we decided to stay there since that is where the girls have to meet to ride the bus to Disney Springs on their performance day and it just makes things easier. When they first told us the group rate, it was more expensive than the Disney Visa rate at the time, so I booked under the Visa rate. Yesterday we got the actual link to book the group rate, and it's a bit cheaper. It will save us $71 total (I know, probably a drop in the bucket but that would pay for a dinner for my DD and I).

So here are my questions:

1. Is there any drawbacks to a group rate vs. a non-group rate?
2. Will I have to cancel my existing reservation and then rebook this or can they apply the rate to my current reservation?
3. Is it worth the hassle to save $71?

I would do it to save less than that! As you said, that's dinner for the two of you. As _auroraborealis_ noted, there is no drawback and you will need to cancel and rebook as group reservations are made through the WDW groups department and not WDTC.
