I called this AM to make a reservation at Crystal Palace for Wed Aug 7th. I was told that they could not accomodate 10 people at one tabel and would have to split us up into 2 or 2 tables. It defeats the purpose of eating together if we can't sit together as a group. I just assumed calling 180 days in advance we would be in luck. Guess not!

In most cases they will try to seat you near each other if not together.some busier restaurants can not ,especially at busy times of year, or peak dining times. And with the DDP it happens more often then not.Sometimes large groups are split up.180 days or not ,unfortunately this is how they do it...it doesn't make it right or fair,so I understand how you fell.Hope everything turns out ok.:goodvibes

Have you tried creating a Grand Gathering for yourself and having that department help you w/ ADRs. I was just complaining to a friend about this and she suggested I try it. I haven't yet, but I wanted to pass on the info, b/c I probably won't stumble across this post again;) . She did it for her last large trip and she said they were accomodated at more places then when she called on her own.

Did you call the Grand Gathering department? They may be able to help you more.

Honestly, I could care less. I would rather not eat an $85 meal. I figure it will be so hot in August that all we will want to do is drink lots of water and eat a light meal. But my MIL thought it would be nice.

We have a family of 10 and usually travel with extended family too. Last year, there were 31 of us there together. While they do seat you at different tables, most of the time the tables are close together, and sometimes are pushed together. If you make your ADR for the beginning or end of the meal period, they will guarantee that the tables are close to one another. I have found that it is just as difficult to try to talk to someone at the far end of a table for 10 as at another table right next to you.

i was told for EVERY ADR i made they wouldnt be able to accomadate our party (10) & there wasnt a time we had to site apart from each other....the only wierd seating was at CR but that was booths & we were all in the same "connecting" booth

but they did insist they would do thier best over the phone
